lukasluis,
Is it true you achieved 30.7s from 0-300?
Yes, he did. Using the Performancebox. I'm not sure about this result but I think it COULD be possible if his car was already running well before the tuning.
0-300 kph in 32-34 seconds should be more likely but also don't forget that the Tiptronic profits from the one gear less, especially in that speed range where power/torque are everything.
30.7s is impossible. The Rt12 has about 700hp and does 0-300 in 25s. The stock 997TT with 480hp does 0-300 in about 41s. A car with 550-580hp cannot be faster than 35s
Simple arithmetics
exactly, and that's why it doesn't have 550hp! it has more like 580-600hp. There is no reason to assume that this car's hp is not underrated the same way the RT12 was underrated
I agree, that's why I wrote "550-580" and not 550...
1. I would rather know that a tuner's power ratings are conservative rather than optimistic. The bottom line is - cost/value of kit and its reliability?
2. Even if RUF's 550hp kit achieves 0-300 in "only 32-34s, I'm sure its enormous torque will make it the "roll-on" KING.
3. I would not recommend driving one unless you are prepared to BUY the kit. Surely, going back to a "stock" Turbo would be disappointing? (RC - have you placed your order yet?

)
4. Thanks to RC for the terrific report(s). And for agreeing with the Turbo's suspension set-up sensitivity.
5. Thanks to Eclou, LAT and GT2ETR for the suspension set-up recommendations. My car is currently in the shop and will definitely have the alignment corrected.
6. If you think acceleration times are difficult to define/believe, what about track times - MANY more variables to deal with. Don't put too much credence in what you read. Test what you like and make-up your own mind.
Finally, it will be interesting to see where the GT2's performance fits in. Can it really be within 2-3s of a CGT from 0-300kph?
