    Wow. I wouldn't want this to happen. The RS Spyder was one of the best things to happen to ALMS.

    I could not read the article as I can not read German...but what I have to laugh about is that the reason they won this year is because Audi had weight and restrictors put on their car. What is good for the goose is good for the gander, right. ALMS is just trying to have some parity. I say let Porsche go.

    No dan996, you have it the other way around!
    The P2 cars are the ones that were restricted due to Audi complaining about P2 cars beating them.
    The LMP2 cars were given 5% smaller air restrictors, not the LMP1's.

    The Spyder program is becoming less and less attractive.
    The P2 class is being constantly castrated by the ACO , so that it does not "interfere" with the marketing objectives of the diesels.(i.e. winning overall).
    Porsche will no longer be able to take overall wins, which to me, totally defeats the purpose of developing a prototype car.
    Sure, Porsche will still sell a few and recoup some of their initial investment, but it will really not do much for Porsche's image, to be getting "thrashed" on a continual basis by the P1 cars. (reason being that most non-hardcore fans don't really know the difference between P1 and P2 regulations).
    P1 with its lopsided pro-diesel rules make it even less attractive than P2.
    So, It seems that having a prototype program at this moment in time, makes little sense.
    I'm not sure that Porsche would not be better off developing a V8 road car that they could homolgate for GT1 and continue developing the 911 for GT2.
