My PZ called me today and I have a PTS allocation for a Touring. This time it seems to be quite easy to get PTS as it is such a nice revenue source for Porsche, offer limited standard colors so a lot of people anyway want PTS. Now with the benefit of hindsight the ordeal I went through with my current Vipergreen Touring was part of the experience. I'm still very much undecided as first I still love my current car, secondly the sound of the 992 will be worse due to the OPF albeit better than the Speedster due to the new exhaust design and thirdly the MK2 will always be a nice step up.
Last but not least the elephant in the room is the Huracan Evo RWD which I like very much and which I have been now eying for a considerable time.
Nice first world problems then!

See it that way as well; same engine, same gearbox, same power, and similar weight. Difference is 992 shape of course, price bump and wider tyre contact which will be sub 7 at NS. Put this in the equation and see if you want to upgrade?
I will wait for the RS as if I have to absorb a price bump then better be sure that the perf will be a league above!

Guys,
the car will be marginaly better, as usual. I can expect a similar performance or slightly slower than.2 RS.
Same thinking : will wait RS model test drive before any decision.
‘especially in France , you need to be a real fan to accept paying ridiculous 35k€ for registration ...... crazy country.

To me, the main improvements are the engine with ITB's (first time on a GT3/RS in US) and Double Wishbone front suspension (first time on any road-legal 911).
And biggest incentive is Euro Delivery to see some of you guys and drive on some fun roads/tracks

DaveGordon:Whoa! Huge flares on the front wings.. did they put a lot more rubber on the front?
I thought all Cup cars are styled that way.
I decided I have no interest in the 992GT3 but seriously considering the 992RS. Hopefully, the flared front wings are not part of the RS design.

Nick - the next RS is going to be very extreme (including looks). If you find the fender flares too garish, you may want to reconsider (they will be some of the more subtle features, if included).
Maybe the car you should order is the 50th Anniversary Carrera RS or the rumored model just called 911 GT (don’t know much about this, except it’s meant to be more road focused than track).

Hi Grant. I’m told little over 10% of RS owners track their cars. Hopefully, Porsche understands this and doesn’t design the RS to look like a car strictly for track use and not for use on public streets.
Btw, did you notice in the picture the car parked on the left with the swan neck wing has the exhaust pipes separated as opposed to being together. Is that the plan for the 992 GT3?
