    Wikipedia claims 1909 units built of 997.1 and approx. 1600 units built of 997.2

    The production numbers of the 997 GT3 RS MkI and MKII are by recent Porsche production standards quite small numbers. Also in RS standards they are still not high . Consider that the 964 RS were made in about 2,200 units , the 993 RS in about 1,100 , the 996 GT 3 RS about 600. The spectacular 73'  2.7 RS in 1,580 units.

    All those above mentioned cars are apart from being great drivers are also collector cars. If your question is related to the investment grade of the 997 GT 3 RS then I guess this is more of a difficult question. I remember in 2000 you could buy  a very nice 964 RS for 35,000 Euros in todays currency, today a well preserved, few kms , first paint and totally original 964 RS is worth at least 100 - 120 K Euros. Will the 997 GT3 RS follow this path? It might be but probably few years down the road.  Also consider that the Euro version is the better one due to the different homologation rules (and the lack therefore of the special RS parts of the US model) so those ones will always be worth less .
