Gnil:Congratulations. Will it restaure your like of the modern 911 ?
Haha, taking New Chubby on 1900 miles run to see my spinal surgeon for a clinical today, so we'll find out! Sure is easier ingress/egress than Pista for spinal fusion cripples. Love the brown, hate tiny range.. more soon
Look at this panel fit, just superb, never seen it this good. dark pic.

Nothing is better than a 911, especially in turbo S guise.
There will be cars that is better in one area over the 911 but lose out on a few others, there isn't another car that can better it in every way.
For ingress/egress, it's even better than Porsche's own Taycan. Not saying much as the Taycan is the worse car for that in Porsche's current offerings.
Even with a small 60ish litre gas tank, the turbo S can go surprisingly long distance if you watch how you use the throttle.
Nick,
I don't buy sports cars to soft pedal them! the gas stops are 180 miles apart; I had enough anxious soft pedals in the 996 gt2s running out here, just hoping to make the next gas. But the S ran 120-155 mph, with strong but not max accelerations after each Pass - had to drop 40-50 mph to pass politely.... and did 190 miles w 40 reserve. 155 is 3500 in 8th gear, so on a smooth road.....
The S doesn't tramline or hunt like a 996 gt2, but yikes, at 155 it shifts in a sudden side breeze just like a Widowmaker! Had 2 events, first one brought flashbacks of 2005? Silver State race where at 165, I was hit with a side wind in the yellow Widowmaker and almost crashed.... Steering goes slightly wobbly or mushy on bad roads. you need to leave suspension in sport and just take the stiffness to keep the car composed.
Accelerates linearly like NA, no big whumpfff in your back and moment of glee, like the 2011 Cab, my last turbo S, seen in Sun's very first run, but gee you check the speedo and you're 100 passing speed to 155 running speed in a flash. the front end feels nice n light vs that heavy front end in the 2011.
Seats super comfy for the cripple! Some side support.
Ready for take off--
Pardon my poor focus - the low piles across the pic are huge leach pads for gold. I wish I'd found this mine when I worked out here, the gold is called "no see 'em" as it's too fine for the rock jock to see but it assays high.
The real test today, flash flood dips at speed, last seen in the gt2rs... more to follow, 600 miles yesterday.

Just a great all round rig
My Death Valley route is washed out, so from Hotel Bel Air today ran 680 miles toward home up the Owens Valley and into NV via the White Mountains, where the 5,000 year old bristlecones pines are - a good visit when the child was 4 - but 2,3, 4 gear mountain hammer with big flash flood swoops, highly amusing -- brakes amazing, car excellent, could feel the 4wd in the wheel pulling out of corners.
This did lead to the 2nd orange no fuel light, and barely made 172 miles soft pedaling last 60... Now you see on the car's screen nearest gas map with 50 miles left, but out here you're toast unless you did your gas math, and made calls to confirm the night before.....
Then lots more stark empty NV, reminding me of my Moroccan exploration environment.
Found some decent, lonely pavement, began to run 165, and yes, again, the car steps sideways with shots of side wind, pushing me into the other lane -- key word "lonely"......
This pic for Mike - great range, finally got it to stick, easier to use. Still no verdict on head on instant on response, but at 125 sheriff in front hit me [rear instant on], and I chilled to 70 no issue, a good sign. Hammer down
TRX facts:
With the wrangler territories still on, the TRX runs right up steep rocky low range 1,2 gear up to our Home Country jump off -- the Raptor [K02's] just spun from torque straight to the ground, had to back off, switch to high range and gun it. the TRX is a way better truck. Coming down, the Raptor ran away in low range as first wasn't low enough even with 10 low range gears, no prob in. the TRX, with 8.
Enmanuel:Watt I didn't realize you were so close to NV, wish we would've met a few years ago when I lived in Vegas.
Only 700 miles away! 40 years ago, I was closer living in wonderful, cosmopolitan Elko exploring NV for minerals.
Gnil:watt:HAHA!!
