Ferdie:blueflame:During our little summer holiday at the austrian alps, I made the anual trip to the Großglockner mountain with my little son.
Looking good... was it just the two of you? I did many trips with my father when I was young, mainly in a Beetle convertible. We still own the car and it's one of the memories I will never forget. Driving the Alps in the 993, I wouldn't be surprised if your son wants to take over the car from you in a couple decades. So which car are you more attached to, the 993 or 991? Curious to know.
Thanks for filling this thread and forum with car-related content.
Yes, just my little son and me - my wife was happy to stay at the Hotel´s SPA...
Regarding your question...the 993 brought so many good moments to our family life, something my former sportscars couldn´t do...everyone likes it. But the GT3 Touring makes me alone really happy, so the combination is perfect.
From December on I will have a lot more garage space...so I can add some more things to the stable...thinking of 987/981 Spyder and a Mercedes 124 Convertible... again for the family and at least designed by Porsche.

I always liked the 993. I'd love to own one, but I'm too afraid of buying one that has either rust, or that has a faked mileage (which is a common thing apparently).
Sometimes I search for a 993 Turbo, but the prices are still too high.

Usually rust is not usually a big issue on a 993. Very big issue prior to 1976 though...

Thanks guys....
Today we picked up a new old car for a friends collection...a 996 GT3 RS with just 20k Kilometers - wonderful car.
The day went on with another great car...another friend showed be his new McLaren 600LT. I did a short testdrive and liked it much more than the F8 Tributo. The 600 HP of the McLaren felt more powerful than the 720 HP of the Ferrari.
Great car, but a lot of strange noises and electrical problems...my friend needed 5 minutes to start the orange beast...
And my lawnmower looks perfect next to it...

Next trip follows with RedNipple to Hockenheim at 16.09.2020 with the Pistenclub for the last Trackday of this season - would be nice to meet a Rennteamer there.

Seems, there will be another Rennteamer participating...
Very cool!!!!
We have reserved a half garage in the pitlane for the green Touring and the Miamiblue T - come and visit us.
Let´s pray for dry conditions, because my Cup2s are in their last life-circle...
See you at the Hockenheimring on 16.09.2020

BjoernB:I would sell that car within a second if I needed 5 min to start it.....
I left my Performante unused for over two months in the garage and forgot to connect the trickle charger. Car started up at first button press without any issues.
Btw: I like the 600LT a lot, very nice price/performance offer.

Another great race-day at the Hockenheimring startet at 05:30 in the morning on a crowded Autobahn and ended at 20:00 in the washing box at home.
The race teams for the GT-Masters arrived during the day and prepared their boxes - so a beautiful 991 R showed up.
We had in our box a 2019 991 Cup car of a friend and I had a chance to test the seat position...it fits. I can test the car on track in April 2021...so there will be some good anticipations over the winter.
A lot of red flags during the day and problems for other drivers, but no damages on our fleet and I have met for the first time a Rennteamer in real life...
Enclosed a pic of his 981GTS and red Nipple together...it was a pleasure d997h.

Yeah, we had a great time ! Not to hot in the mornings and, luckily, not very hot in the (cloudy) afternoon, so we didn't turn our tires into jewing gum... blueflame actually waived to me when we finished our first session and as I was part of the last cars to the enter the pit lane, this was very helpful (for me) then to later establish the "first contact"... ...
There were even some guys from CH, so perhaps "Pistenclub.de" could be a way to bring more Rennteamers together, fees are ok, the organisation is good and in the trackdays I attended so far driving discipline was good (no knifes out...).
By the way, I had a look at blueflame's car and I have to admit I am / was really amazed by the foil job done by "second skin", it really looks like the car came like that out of the factory ! ... last but not least, isn't it interesting how massive my "little" toy looks (yeah!) in contrast to the GT3... ...
Gnil:One of those epic day Always nice to meet another RT member.
Awesome pics on a awesome day, buddy

Because of Corona our alpine Tour in June was cancelled....so we drove on homeground the last 3 days 1.500 Km through the Black Forest. An really epic trip and nobody was missing the Alps.
I decided to use the old 993, which was a very good decision...Cup2 at 4 C in the rain would have been interesting...

We had everything from heavy rain and pure sunshine...tricky conditions...a Porsche 992 GT3 Touring Testdriver had no luck and crashed his Prototype right in front of our group...luckily no one was injured.
Maybe they will do now a last minute setup-change with less understeer....(sorry for this bad joke)

rhino:Looked like a fun day, and the cake looked delicious! The crashed touring was the real cherry on top
Not for the driver...
Very nice pictures indeed, thanks.
Stupid accident, he was too fast and slipped straight, happened to me once as well in the Black Forest but I was lucky that there was no car on the other lane, so I had "room" to rescue the situation. The roads are very slippery in autumn, especially now when it is cold and rainy. I also bet he had semi-slicks on the car, deadly for this weather.
