993 4S has a wooden foot board???
Hi everyone,
Firstly thanks to everyone for your positive feedback on the beautiful white 993 4S I was fortunate to buy. When checking it through during the pick-up I pulled back the carpet on the driver side footwell to discover a wooden foot board (where the pedals are) . I asked the salesman at Porsche who was equally surprised and didn't know why it was there.
Should I be concerned? Is this common practice? It definitely isn't something that came from Porsche (surely it would have been made from a non-flammable material if it was?), but it is a well crafted "plate" that has the niches for the pedal stems neatly carved out. I'm wondering what I'll discover if I remove the foot board.
As it's just been driven for 6 hours it's covere with flys. As soon I've had a chance to wash it I'll be sure to post pics
