    New AMG 63 engine finally no secret anymore

    Specs: 6.3 V12 with 510 HP.
    First AMG model to get it seems to be the upcoming ML63 AMG.
    The engine seems also to fit the CLS, the E-class and, hold your breath, the SLK. And of course the SL gets it too.
    A bi-turbo charged version may also be in the planning.

    The interesting part: the new engine is a 100% AMG development, not a modified Mercedes engine.

    The new engine is a n/a-V8, peak RPM is about 1000 RPM below BMW's and Audi's numbers. Pretty curious about that engine, AMG seems to put a lot of effort into it.

    Where can I sign for that SLK 63?

    The reputable German magazine Auto Motor und Sport and jesmb.de have released official information on the upcoming 6,3 AMG engine. Here are the specs:

    4-valves per cylinder

    Max power: 510 hp @ 6800 rpm
    Max torque: 464 lb.ft. @ 5200 rpm
    Redline: 7200 rpm

    the n/a 63 seems to have marginally more power but substantially less torque than the 55? and the twin turbo version is beaten by the 65?? are these new engines a lot lighter or is the power delivery going to be so much better? i must be missing something?????????
