    Powerkit Engine Picture

    Not sure if this picture has been already posted but here it is: the "infamous" 381 HP Powerkit Engine for the 997 Carrera S.

    Looks very attractive!

    I think Porsche should install that in your new Boxster.

    Be nice of them to show some "good will" for screwing up your interior trim order.

    I guess the PSE is just icing on the cake because it does nothing for the std. 997 so it must be the other items that make the power and the PSE just lets it breath and sound better.

    Please confirm me: the figures are 381 hp at 7200 or about 8000 rpm, like in the gt3? And the torque?

    I think Trundle997S is the best...and yes, the figures are right but of course the powerkit engine is not based on the "old" 964/GT1 engine design but on the new 3.8 l M97 Carrera S engine.

    What amazes me the most is the increased torque, especially since this is done over the whole rev range!

    The previous engine looked, judging by the dyno graph, rather like a sport-biased version of the orginial engine, sacrificing or at least not improving performance at lower RPMs.

    I do believe that this won't be the last stage that we will see from this engine!
