    My PREVIOUS Ferrari

It's gone. I sold my F430 after 2 fun years and 20,000 loud km's. Had a really good oppertunity; and I already ordered the successor, this anticipation kind of helps...

I'm about to buy a CL 500 -- the exact opposite regarding sound, feel, size and depreciation. But I somehow like it very much -- and there are some back seats, which I really need at the moment since Mrs zzboba is pregnant.

    Oh I do miss it.

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

Your F430 was one of the nicest one I have ever seen

Nevertheless, are you sure you will be able to put up with the wait ?

In his own way the new CL is very nice also and the 500 seems to be the sensible choice.

    Gratulation!

    ... to the pregnancy.

To all other plans my deepest sympathy.
You will miss her badly, I'm sure. Still a while till the successor will show up. At least you answered my question regarding "chromitschwarz".

Congratulations on the future zzboba Jr. !
No need to lament the loss of the 430, you'll just appreciate the new car much better once it arrives .

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

Hopefully you'll be back sooner than later. There's always room for two babies you know?

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

    Congratulations on your pending fatherhood!

The replacement hopefully will be less than a 1 1/2 years away.

So the mini zzboba will be faster than the new Ferrari

@ zzboba: well done All the best to the three of you

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

smart move....i always wonder about the rational of those buying an f430 when the replacement is on the horizon and you can get in early....i know the rational is headed my way....congratulations on what will be more fun than any car

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

What is better than a zzboba?

    Two zzbobas!

Many congrats, well done (Of course I am referring to the Baby )

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

    Congrats on the pregnancy!!!

Let's see some more pictures of that 430!

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

    Congrats

Did you consider getting the new Maserati GranTurismo
It should be more fun to drive than a CL, and a hell of a lot sexier. And it looks like it will have a decent backseat as well.

I think zzboba wants to devote his attention to the family, not constantly sevicing the car .

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

    Congrats, zzboba

As a prior owner of '07 CL550 and 600 and now a very, very pleased driver of '08 CL63, would strongly advise CL63, rather than 500...

Recently did a back-to-back of CL63 vs 599 in mtn twisties w/a couple of colleagues who also own/daily-drive both 599 and CL63.....consensus favorite among these jaded amateurs for better-balanced driver's car on public mtn twisties was CL63, over the formidable 599 (safety on public roads is where 599 prob loses slight perf/fun edge over CL63)....

We're all getting CL65s in Fall, but suspect CL63 will be our overall favorite, b/c of 250lb-lighter, higher-tech NA motor and superior traction ....look fwd to seeing if 430CS proves compellingly more fun w/latest-tech tranny/diff, etc vs 599, w/a likely trade-off of less mid-range tq.... ...simple solution: always have latest/greatest-tech F and MB in one's fleet: rather complementary pairing prob yielding maximal daily/wkend perf/precision/fun/safety/utility/comfort....

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

    congrats for the pregnancy !

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

Congrats zzboba on Mr.s zzboba's pregnancy! You will be able to share the successor with your future in no time

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

Since we moved to the suburbs my daily commuter run is 40km's twice... the Maser GT should be nice and I've thought about it -- but I really have concerns regarding the reliability and gas consumption (since it's basically the same engine as the F430's). Same with the 4Porte.

Well, I could have kept the F430 for weekends though -- but my funds are limited, there's another 2-seater (Boxster), and I'm not sure when I'll have time to drive it with a baby upcoming anyway; so I decided to focus on family for the next 2 yrs, get a CL as a decent all-in-one vehicle and... WAIT FOR THE F430 SUCCESSOR!

Well, and the offer was quite good. It's spring, the Light Pista has not appeared yet, neither the "Dino" nor pictures or info about the successor... so I'm not too sure if F430 resale value in the future will be as good as it is now.

Thanks for all your kind feedback!

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

    Congratulations on the mini-zzboba!!!

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

Hey zzboba! Congratulations on the good news! It's a shame the F430 had to go but it's just a car after all. Is this your first child? Anyway, many congrats once again to you and your wife

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

    CL resale value is bad...
why don't you think about new Audi RS6 avant?580cv,4wd,enough luggage space, more sporty than CL

Or the best 4-door "sportscar" on the market - the M5

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

Congratulations zzboba, but if you are looking for a sports car with back seats why not consider a 997TT ?

I agree it will have much boot and seat space than in the CL, but you would stay closer to the F430 in terms of performance

while the kid is small I reckon the space in the 997TT is enough

Anyway, keep us posted on your choice !

    m5?no luggage as rs6...4wd is safer...580hp are a lot ....

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

My decision would be between a new M5 or the new RS6(which I havent seen any pics at all)..Either ways I'm sure CL is a great car, but its not my cup of tea, in your "situation" right now I would go for a M5 and switching off the electronic speed limit , for the autobahn !!

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

i would have taken the granturismo, but the cl is a nice car

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

You should at least get the CL 63 AMG

It looks fantastic and makes all the right noises IMO:

    Re: My PREVIOUS Ferrari

Silly question, but have you test driven the CL500 both on the daily commute, and gotten a feel for how it will be to have it as your main car? My advice is made in the blind, but I'd be seriously considering whether the CL will be fitting enough to last or if it will only give way to an expensive trade-up

    And congratulations about mini-Zzboba

What you forget is all the crap you have to bring in addititon to the kid, when it is small
Stroller, diapers, clothes for every possible weather situation, a portable bed....

In my experience the total space a kid occupies shrinks from 0-6 years old, and I guess it grows again when they hit the teens...

No, he'll need something like this:
