i don't really want to give out information like that monkey

lets just say i'm around your age, i can't seem to picture a 60 year old driving a SL55

especially with 19" AMG rims :P

lets just say i'm around your age, i can't seem to picture a 60 year old driving a SL55

especially with 19" AMG rims :P

The SL65 has 604 BHP, the CGT 612 BHP.
The SL65 weighs 2028 kg, the CGT weighs 1.380 kg.
The Mercs weight-to-power ratio is 3.35 kg pr. BHP
The CGT's ration is 2,25 kb pr. BHP.

The SL65 0-100 = 4,2 secs
The CGT = 3,9 secs

The CGT = 330 km/h topspeed.
The SL65 = electronically limited to 250, but would run above 330 without limiter. The Kleeman E55 K ran 338 km/h with a 607 bhp engine.

I think its safe to say that the CGT carrying 650 kg less at the same BHP will have a huge advantage both when accelerating and cornering.

Like someone said before, these are two very different cars.
The CGT will eat up the SL65 as soon as the cars hit a curve.
Mercs just arent built for much more than cruising.
But cruising they do to perfection.

So, the SL65 will set someone back 205k or more... for that price, someone could either- buy a lambo murcielago which isn't limited and looks wild-- moreover, performs better and won't depreciate like the SL65 b/c it looks nearly the same as every other SL. Someone could get a USED Aston Martin Vanquish- hand made (mostly) and more noticeable (though in my opinion it looks like a damn mustang in real life), OR--- a used BENTLEY T (1 of only 2 names in the ultimate luxury list), or a Bentley GT--- sl65 may be faster to 60, but the sl65 doesn't even come close to a GT in luxury or prestige, a Porsche GT2, A ferrari 360 coupe, with money enough to buy an M3 or lesser AMG, a 360 spider (which can't beat the SL65 to anything in a straight line)--- but would rip up the car on the track, and simply looks like the hand of God built it, a 575... I mean, the list continues.

The car is cool and all- but to me, I wouldn't waste my money PURCHASING one. I would lease one for 2 years.. that's about it.

No doubt these are all fantastic cars, but as none of them are GT Roadsters, the comparison falls short. Except for the 360 Spider, none are convertibles either..

And the fact that it looks like all other SL's might just as well be a good thing for many buyers, as the SL is one of the most beutiful cars there is and also quite "stealth". Most people won't think about the car, thus not noticing that you've spent 200k on it. Whereas a Ferrari would be something quite different
