PORSCHE TEST DRIVERS are working with the next 911 GT3 these very weeks. Now we know and we thank Porsche, these are the first pictures of an undisguised prototype of the new Porsche 911 GT3.
GT3 is the high-performance variant of the normally aspirated current 911 Carrera - not to be confused with the turbo charged GT2, which is based on the current 911 Turbo.
When that 911 Turbo was first presented in 1999, it already had those newly shaped headlights the standard 911 Carrera received only about a year later. And also the GT2, based on the Turbo and presented in January 2001, got the more modern headlamps right from the start. The latest GT3 was based on the former 911 Carrera, but now Porsche brings the GT3 up to today's standard - the car on the images and the video - is based on the latest 911 Carrera.
Equipped with a manual six-speed gearbox, the 3.6-litre flat six engine in the rear will pump a stunning 370 HP. Chassis and mechanics will be fine-tuned and should allow a top-speed of around 310 km/h. Traditionally, the interior will be quite Spartan compared to a standard Carrera.

I don't hide my torn feelings towards PCCB. If PCCB is such a performer, why doesn't Porsche use it in their GT3 race cars ?
