To be honest...I wish McLaren would have made the 765LT drivable like the 720S. Then the 765LT would be the ultimate supercar, no need for a Sabre or whatever.
Reports from owners of 765 is that it fantastically drivable, feels like ultimate visceral 720 with heightened feedback and of course the extra pace and manic sounds, this car was not built to beat the Merc BS on the track, it is a car for fun on the road even at slower speeds, interestingly it is about 10s quicker than Merc BS in 200-300kph !

I do not know who this Jas is but maybe he didn't push the car hard enough?
I haven't driven the 765LT yet but the one person I know who owns one, is happy with the car as a product but the driving is, according to him, quite challenging vs. the 720S. Yes, he knows how to drive. He compared the driving behaviour a little bit with the F12 tdf.
All those negative track reports cannot be wrong, unless McLaren has changed the setup of the 765LT, which of course cannot be excluded. I doubt it though.
