    Carrera GT Produced

    It seems like it has been a long wait since I first saw the Carrera GT in Paris in September of '00, and numerous times since, to receive the call I received today from my dealer, informing me my Carrera GT has completed production. The dealer gave me the VIN number so it must be for real!!!! I selected the "fly" option so, while the dealer was unable to say for certain when the car will be in California, I would like to think it will be here in a couple of weeks. I hope I am not being too optimistic. As you can imagine, I can't wait for it to arrive. Larry

    Congratulations, Larry...I'm so happy for you. If you're as excited as CF is about his car, I'm sure you can't sleep at night anymore.
    The airport is not far away from the factory, I'm pretty sure you get your car earlier than you think.
    Don't forget to post pictures and a short driving report for your fellow CGT friends and of course...enjoy driving it first.
    It is a pitty you didn't pick your car up at Leipzig, it would not only have been a lifetime experience but you could have driven your CGT on the Autobahn.
    I keep my fingers crossed so you get your car very soon.

    Congratulations! You will have to tell us when you driive your CGT if you will keep your other sport cars :-)

    You probably will have it a lot sooner than two weeks. I had the option to fly my Ferrari in for a mere $5800 and opted not to. Another individual who's car was also ready, took the fly option. He had his car within a week and mine took four weeks.

    It will be a great time to drive that car in the wine country.

    Larry, I am very happy for you; you must be totally excited !
    This is the other Larry ("Revvv") that you met in Germany, at the GT event. We had a blast ! If your GT just finished production, and has a VIN, it will be airfreighted from Frankfurt to LA, and then shipped to your dealer ! It may take
    as little as 3-7 days for the whole process ! Get ready to drive
    it my friend; it is even better than we experienced in Leipzig,
    because you are in the Left seat, and the sensations are truly
    sensational,if you like motors ! You won't believe it when you touch the throttle ! It revs in a millisecond; like no other streetcar. Enjoy !
    Danny Chauvier's GT is also completed (Chassis 27 for the USA, GT Silver/Dark Grey) and is on the way via slow boat that arrives in Savana GA, and then trucked to FL .Every body
    here can't wait ! I WILL be driving it, soon ! The cost to Fly
    is $15,000 versus $2,900 by boat. But the difference is 3 days,compared to 3 weeks to drive your new Super Toy !

    Thanks everyone for letting me share my excitement with you. I hope Revv is correct on the timing, which would mean I will have the car sooner than I expected. Oh, I ordered Carrera GT Silver with charcoal grey interior. Regarding other sports cars I drive, I am certain I will continue to enjoy the diversity of driving experiences. Time will tell. Yes, last night was restless. I dosed off watching F1 qualifying this morning!! Thanks again and I will post pictures (which last time I sent to RC) and share my driving experience once that day arrives. Thanks again. Larry
