    New SL facelift?

    anyone know when the new SL body style is coming out?

    I thought the next change to the SL will be to give it the SLK/ SLR front end.

    nope, maybe the next generation SL, not this current one, it will just be a "facelift" not a total make over

    originally the SL's facelift was planned to hit the street much earlier, including the F1-nose like SLK/SLR. but merc management revoked those plans -- now the (probably minor) facelift is coming in 2006. and the SL's life cycle was expanded to 2012 (from 2010 originally).

    rumours also say that there won't be further F1-nose-mercs. this design "era" is over.

    Got really confused at the Southampton Merc dealer a week ago - an AMG SL with a SLK type nose drove by - I think there's a company (Kahn?) doing an aftermarket new nose - looked pretty good in the black

    Zzboba should be right, that's the same info I got from "my contacts" a couple of month ago - from a different source!
