trev0006:
Porsche GT3 RS vs Porsche 997 Turbo is there really this much difference in these two cars acceleration?

I test drove what I thought was overall THE best (and most beautiful) sports car in the world, the Ferrari F430. Even with this great V8, in comparison with the Turbo the Ferrari fell like the low end torque and power was missing in action. During that whole drive, I kept the tach at 5000 rpm plus, and even then, it felt like something was missing.
The moral of the story is, if the V8 Ferrari has trouble keeping up, when it comes to power and torqe the flat 6 of the GT3 does not stand a chance. Objectively and, especially, subjectively. The Turbo engine feels like a nuclear poower plant and it's the only car I've ever driven where I felt there is no need for more power. (BTW, the one car that matches the Turbo is the V10 Lamborghini Gallardo.)
Even the new GT3 will not stand a chance when it comes to power and torque. This is why I am disappointed that PDK is not available yet with the new GT3 (just my opinion that an automatic type transmission helps to hide the torque deficiency as far as subjective sensation is concerned). At the track of course it's a different story...
