Thank you gents,
Yes of course Mike S meant Pain to Sample, and he is right, it does indeed take much more time to deliver.
Is it "Pain" because it's a pain to wait so long for PTS?
Rossi, you are one of a kind

Futch, many congratulations! You are meticulous with your options It sounds like it will be a phenomenal specification when done.

Mike -
Just a silly thought here, but have you considered a full body wrap (for the car, not you...)
That way you you get as custom as you like, and can protect your factory paint exceptionally well. I'm not sure how good they look finish-wise, but a thought none the less...
Either way, congratulations on the order!

Ferdie: Correct! I'm not sure yet, but I don't like white or black.
How about skipping Old School Porsche (Gulf colours) and going Old Old School Porsche (356 colours)?

Congrats Mike !! I'd order it in red to be honest. i know the GT2RS is already red but that would be exactly the point imo, just imagine what a breath taking spectacle it'd be to open a garage door and see a GT2RS and a GT3RS 4.0 parked side by side in the same glorious color. some peoples heart could malfunction,

UK is 28 cars for 32 dealers, 1 each with 4 dealers getting none :(
I would not worry much about the dealer allocations. Just get a car on the market (might be a bit more difficult for the UK spec cars than for the ROW cars, though).
In Germany/central Europe there will be more than enough cars sold new by buyers who are not interested in keeping the car. Same as for the GT2RS. Porsche's are never (!) rare - irrespective of what marketing tells us

I'm finding the 'strict discipline' tagline quite amusing - it has kind of a sado-masochistic ring to it

The German marketing people who came up with that tagline have fallen into a little trap when carrying it over to the English brochures, as the word "discipline" in English is generally used a little differently to "Disziplin" in German.
The more common understanding of that word in German could be translated into English as doctrine, theory, system or organised branch of knowledge.

Hmm...my English isn't that good but this is what a translation website says about it:

Thanks fritz - I'm not into this kind of stuff personally - but the moment I read the phrase 'strict discipline', it conjured up a mental image of a saucy classified ad along the lines of 'naughty schoolboy seeks headmistress for strict discipline'

You, as a F1 fan, are thinking of Max Mosley, perhaps
"Form follows function"
