    Accelaration - car pulls to the left

    Hey guys - just put a set of 19" Carrera S used lobster wheels on my 997.  Now, when i accelerate the car pulls to the left.  I did get all 4 wheel balanced prior to mounting.  The only thing i can think of is that one of the rear tires is brand new and other has about 60% thread left.  Any thoughts? Thanks.

    you may need front wheel alignment

    Is the used tire on rear right side ?   Swap the rear wheels and see on which side car will pull then .

    This may be obvious but first check the rear tire pressures.

    If its under acceleration and under deceleration-breaking its OK, its likely a rt vs left rear tire grip difference, like from a difference in pressure, or if the 60% worn tire is not only worn but also too old (tires loose grip over time, surface hardens, etc, even though they may look OK to the eye).

    Personally I would never mix diferent worn lf vs rt tires on the car, unless they are really new, it may be OK in normal driving, but not in an emergency maneuver or spirited driving.

    Definitely the different state of wear of your 2 rear tyres.  I had the same issue when I changed my left rear tyre after a puncture damaged the original after 3000kms. After putting on a brand new ps2, the car would pull drastically to the left on acceleration.  On my car, the behavior was exaggerated due to the LSD. 

    Suggested solution, find a quiet road, turn off PSM, and light up the rearsSmiley.  you need to scrub the new tyre in, thats all.  Or be patient, after a few 100kms, all will be well.

    Thanks Liquid.  This makes alot of sense.  I'm going to go out and get that new tire broken in this Sunday morning.

    i would most certainly have the wheel alignment checked. maybe you hit a slight curb and it affected toe-in of a wheel.

    do you get any vibration at any speeds ?

    don't mix tires of different quality on the same axle. might be catastrophic under very hard braking and result in losing control of the car.

    As said before,

    it is the tyre wear. I had a puncture on one of my rears, and got it replaced, caused the car to pull to one side when giving it gas  and also snatch when changing gears ( dropping the clutch).
