Other than that, the problems at Mercedes have nothing to do with motorsports.

You also have to ask yourself if they would have thought it was a better deal if Mercedes had hired some relative "nobody" for 3 or 4 million less, and completely missed out on the Schumacher-Effect?

Imagine the next 3 years of how many cars Merc will sell just because of him driving - and all those who will buy a "limited Schumi" edition C class with a spoilerset on

It's a bargain comparing of what the marketing will get out of it...

He'd rather have that 7miliion pound in his pocket now and not the future earning potential of having a halo driver.
Plus, that is way below market value for a World Champion, I think Alonso gets 20mil and he only got 2, Michael has 7.
Schumacher is a great choice for Mercedes, some people are just nuts for criticizing Mercedes. So much publicity for so "little" money, a very good deal for Mercedes.
