Porsche adapts production to demand
Stuttgart. Even Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, cannot escape the current economic crisis in the automobile industry. Due to the decline in demand worldwide, production at the parent plant in Zuffenhausen was stopped for the first time last Friday, November 21, 2008. Furthermore, seven additional days off have been scheduled up to the end of January 2009. Because the flexitime accounts of Porsche employees are well filled due to the high production capacity in the last year, balance is possible without short-time work.
Porsche is no longer expecting to achieve the high total sales figures in the current 2008/09 (ending July 31, 2009) fiscal year that it achieved in the previous year (98,652 vehicles).
