    Does 997Turbo disappoint you ?

    i know that the 997GT3/GT3RS disappoint you cause the they'er almost the same in porformance with 996.
    Most ppl consider Turbo is an amazing Car. still some say 997T is a disappointing Car.
    what do you think about it?

    The 997 GT3/GT3RS are disappointing? Since when? I have only heard very good things about them both and I think I have read every test or review printed.

    No..

    my 997 Turbo is faster and faster and more emotional to drive than my former Ecu tuned 996 TT,sdo i'm not disappointed

    And i think that also 997 GT3 and RS are a lot better than 996 GT3/RS...under all aspect

    Definitely NOT disappointed with the 997TT. It's safe for me to say that the Turbo is the best car I've ever owned bar none.

    I would venture to say that there are very few people in this world that would be disappointed by the 997tt. After 9 months of ownership, I am still totally in love with this car. The depth and richness of its performance, safety and comfort envelope still leaves me amazed.

    I would fully agree, just got mine last week. Its awesome to drive here in the UK and am using it to commute to work. Never felt like driving to work could be so fun.

    Just a couple of nags - haven't still figured out how to memorise the keys with seat settings. need help. Also the brakes squeek if I brake very slowly, again suggestions welcome

    The 997GT3 is faster and by far better than the 996TT and as for the 997TT, I love it all the way with exception of the exhaust sound which could use a bit of improvement.

    997s of all breeds are significant improvements over 996s.

    The BIG disappointment for me is the 997s (Carrera, Turbo, GT3) have been stylized and embellished (flared, vented, slatted, winged, two-toned, posed) to the point where I'm almost walking away from Porsche forever.

    I guess they are going after younger guys who can't live without the conspicuous "bling bling."

    I'm so pleased with it that I can't stop driving it. This car exceeded my high expectations...I love it period.

    Yea I'm one of the young guys at 58!! My 993C2 is a great car, the 997TT is in another league. Only issue is with exhaust note (car is much faster than it sounds) which can easlily be changed.

    It really should not disappoint. For the money and its stated purpose, you will not find many cars that can match it.

    The two complaints I have heard are related to turbo lag and exhaust. Can't do much about turbo lag but exhaust is an easy fix.

    Lag can be fixed as well with ecu flash... the downside is voiding warranty.

    The only disappointemnt that I always had with the TT was getting out of the car. It always seemed too short of a drive

    Ditto on that. I usually read who is making the post first, then the post. I did a double take back to make sure that I did read Nberry correctly the first time. Maybe there is hope yet.

    Re the sound , yes change the exhaust , used the Cargraphic 200Cell , throtlle response and spool up 5 x better ( Well !! you know what i mean ) and joy oh joy the Sound what a car

    My issue has always been with the company and not the car. They are well engineered though the concept of function over form has led to an ossification of the car.

    So many days I read and I dont want to get into this conversation.
    The car is Souless. You can take a turn with too many kms with not much efford or driving skills. You dont need to be a good driver. It is too easy. The best car for everyday, for a man with children around 40-50 years old.. A very fast SL (much better though) No feeling..
    you can go with 270km and you can talk with your girlfriend!! On the limit it is dangerous though without the PSM. Extremely stable in long open turns but not so good in short turns.. Maybe it will become an other car if someone modifies it with 600hp and sound..

    Maybe you need 997 manual with optional LSD?

    Ask few members here about this version...
    It has better traction then TIP version and is IMHO more fun.

    997 Turbo Tipronic and 997 Turbo manual with LSD are two different cars..

    The first is more SL and the second is more Gt3..

    you must only choose the one you prefer..
