    electrics

    My 997TT died on the side of the road this weekend-- the alternator went out. Also replacing a defective PCM module. Only 6600 miles on it. Has anyone else had electrical issues with their cars?

    My 997S PCM refused to eject CD. Trying to fix the problem they replaced modules and then, eventually, the entire unit was replaced under warrenty. Save time: ask why just the modules. OTOH, no problems with my TT.

    Had the same problem in the Cayenne, had to change the whole unit on warranty. works fine now

    In my case I kept messing with it, pulling/replacing fuse, pushing buttons in combination and at random, and eventually the CD would pop out. Then, thinking it was fixed (like it rebooted itself), I'd put the CD back in again and it didn't come out! (real smart huh?) After two or three incidents like this I stopped monkeying around with CD.

    Oh, what's even worse about this? All the while my battery was being discharged (by the defective PCM) even when car was parked. Ruined battery which was also replaced under warrenty.
