The Turbo S is a bit too much of a sleeper, especially regarding the emotional part.

I would never change my RS for a Turbo S (because of the fun factor ) . I still have lots of respect for the Turbo S as it is very fast , and it is king of ambivalent that on the track the autobahn confortable cruiser is actually faster then the track oriented '' hard core'' car .

But it is so fast on long tracks with Michelin Cup's ..... faster then my RS,
Of course the 991 Turbo S is a fantastic driving machine and a very good track car with the right tires but at the end of the day, people need to ask themselves what they want. For me, the Turbo S would have been a perfect daily driver and maybe a very good track car if I planned to be on the track often. Not for serious track racing but that occasional and more serious than causal track fun.
What I needed was a weekend toy car. The Turbo S is not a good weekend toy car if you don't get to drive it often and the emotional part is important.
When I enter my 991 GTS Cab and start the engine and actually drive it, I get goosebumps. Even at lower speeds. Same goes to my R8, this is where I actually get (almost) an orgasm.
The Turbo S is an amazing driving machine but it just wasn't enough to make me happy, especially because I was driving this car only on weekends.

Yes and no. I would want the maximum performance available with the right amount of emotional enjoyment as well.
Looking at Porsche, I think the GT3 RS offers the best mix right now, followed by the GT4 and the 991.1 GTS models. I also love the 918 but I think the 918 is in a completely different league of it's own.

I have my concerns with the engine...

BjoernB:there is no higher "Kulanz" from Porsche than on the 991GT3..... - totally safe - not my words but....
I don't doubt it but I have a bad feeling, so...
The next 991.2 GT3 will surely be bullet proof.

As already reported I have signed the contract for an Audi R8 V10 Plus 14 days ago and got the car delivered 1 week ago.
The car was originally equipped with the standard 19-inch wheels and was „decorated with beautiful“ stripes.
I arranged to get the stripes removed and ordered 20-inch wheels with Y-spoke in Anthracite immediately.
Today the 20 inch wheels were mounted. A clearly visible difference I think. Personally I like the 20-inch wheels of course, but as always it’s a matter of personal taste.
However, with the eye-catching color and the black carbon applications, the black wheels fit very well. This is a must. No way out.
For comparison here again 2 live pics with the 19-inch and 20-inch wheels. What’s your opinion about?
Kind regards, Conny

The equipment is almost complete but unfortunately I only have the 73-liter tank and not the very good laser light. But the LED headlights provide good light as well. Nevertheless, I would have preferred the laser light.
My first experience I will like to tell after some time. However, Christian has written such a comprehensive and thoroughly review one can add almost nothing. My first impressions absolutely agree with his experiences. It's a very entertaining car and much more emotional than my 997.2 Turbo S ever was.
Even my neighbors are involuntarily get entertained every morning after a cold start. As I learned today, it’s absolutely impossible to prevent this infernal noise (cold start with open flaps) or to change the control software. Same as Lamborghini Huracan.
For reasons of emission regulations, the catalysts have to be heated as quickly as possible and this is only workable with open flaps, I was told.
My neighbors must either live with it or I can soon buy there houses at a low price. Since I am in the real estate business, this would be a pleasant side effect.
Seriously, the sound is incredible and the 10 Zyl. n/a engine is probably the last of its kind. Attached some pics of today.

Congrats Conny! Absolutely no comparison with the 20" black wheels... the 19" were so... 2015 no seriously, they looked a bit too small for such a sporty car, and the black color in the wheels with the red car... what can I say, you nailed it! fits the R8 so well with all the other black elements it has like black wing, black side intakes, black front and read fascia, etc... the wheels matches it all together.

apias:I've never been a fan of black wheels, but, you know, I'm starting to think maybe they are meant to be on red sports cars. Nice. Congratulations.
That is exactly what I was thinking... the only contradicting thought is if the 20" wheels also come with unacceptable ride / tramlining / noise side effects, and this will largely depend on the roads you usually drive. Many cars just drive nicer with the smaller wheel options. But looks? As apias said.

Congrats Conny, awesome spec! Unfortunately I'm also aware of the issue of loud cold-starts and irritated neighbours.

Perfect wheels for that spec congrats & enjoy the car!
I have the same 'early morning' problem with the Donkervoort (open exhaust) but I just push the car out the garage to a quiet spot in the street where I board and start the car. Hurray for lightweigtht cars

Tried that with the RS, need to lift some weights first to make that feasible.

I just watches this morning "TopGear" and the test of the new R8. Sabine Schmitz was giving hard time to that car in Laguna Secca. Amazing - I don't have any words for it - really amazing car! Actually - the TopGear Car also was like yours Conny - red/black rims. It looks adorable. I would take exact same config!
Thanks a lot for the good wishes, guys.
The R8 is relatively small, compared with a sedan. In the garage he is almost completely hidden behind my 7 Series. Nevertheless, the R8 is 4 centimeters wider (measured without mirrors) than the 7 Series!!
This shouldn't underestimated when maneuvering.

So far as I have experienced by now there is no additional noise or limitations in comfort. Of course, this could change when the tires are worn more. Will see...

Joost:Woah, what a beauty Conny!
Love the new wheels, they look pretty pretty! Congratulations on the new beast. Might I suggest a group shot together with Christians V10 monster? :-)
This is certainly a very good idea.
Since Christian is just as much busy as I, we just have to manage to find a slot.
