LOL - I'm getting old - I didn't pay attention to the date of the thread - all I saw was a thread about Mike S getting a new car - and we all know how frequently this happens

Wow, I totally forgot about this post. I am actually in the process of continuing with my order. I paused it as I too heard the rumor of the twin turbo version. Apparently this is no longer on the cards (whether my informant is correct or not). So I am going ahead with the order now.

Hahaha Cheers!!!
Yeah, there are many pros and cons to the G wagon....but it think most importantly it grabs the heart in a way that rules over other considerations....
Regd top speed, for me thats not an issue, since I would drive it mostly in winter or roadtrips with many passengers, and then there is no desire for high speeds. Effortless cruising is sufficient.
I think the big decision is between the G350 bluetec diesel and the G55. The diesel makes common sense, but its well... diesel... and I think one would always be left wishing one had gotten the G55 instead.
What really appeals about the G55 is that the engine is special.. being hand built and all... I dont know what percentage of the effort really is so.. but looking at residual values on the few used ones on sees, its one of the highest of any passenger car. So it looks like they are built to last.......
Just my thoughts so far on the subject
