    Lowering and spacers on Cayman S

    Hi all
    I recently acquired an S.Love the car and the handling.The car is not equipped with PASM or Sports Chrono. It has 19" wheels. Looking at the car in profile the wheel arches above the wheels seem a bit high.I am considering lowering the car by 10 mm but am worried that the ride will become as harsh as PASM in sport mode.Will this be the case?I obviously also want to enhance the already great roadholding and saw some complaints about roadholding is sport mode. In addition I am thinking of
    10mm spacers as 5mm spacers are hardly noticeable. Again I want to do this to improve roadholding even more.I know Porsche recommends 5mm spacers. Your views will be appreciated.

    I have a pasm enabled Cayman S and recently fitted Cargraphic lowering springs , they are designed for pasm suspension and lower the car 20mm all round . I also have 15mm spacers on the rear and 10mm on the front, the ride as far as I can tell hasn't altered at all. As your car is already 10mm higher than a pasm enebled Cayman I would have thought you would want to lower it more than 10mm . The non pasm Cargraphic springs lower it by 30mm .

    Chrissy, can you post some more pics? That looks great in combination with those rims! What size are they?

    Your car looks great! I am now convinced the space above the wheels are too high. I have many speedbumps in my neighbourhood and cannot go too low. Will go to PASM height because of this and the worry that the car may become too hard.This still remains my major concern and I hope that somebody with a non PASM car can comment Have you experienced any benefits with the spacers ?

    They are just the standard 19" Carrera Classics that I chose when I bought the car.

    Why did you add spacers when you lowered the car ? Cosmetic, or necessay ? Also could you post a shot of the lowered car from the same persepctive as the "before" picture for better comparison ?. And finally, what did it cost to lower the car ?

    I put the spacers on before I lowered the car , purely cosmetic. I think the lowering springs cost Pounds190 , I fitted them myself so it was quite a cheap mod.

    No handles and feels the same to me , still very comfy when not in sport mode

    Question about Cargraphic springs- I called their US distributor, who told me that they are actually H and R sport lowering springs. In your post, your state "The non pasm Cargraphic springs lower it by 30mm .", which implied to me that there are different sets of springs for the PASM and non-PASM cars. Is that true ? I called H and R, who told me they make one set of springs for all the Caymans.

    This is the link tot he UK website - they quote 2 options, -20mm for PASM to add to the factory -10mm making 30mm lower than a tandard factory suspended car
