    Re: [2022] Formula 1

    thuggy:

Arguing one’s current hand is all part of the game, no more or less.  They all do it, some more effective than others, some arguments better than others.

Meh. They were all dealt the same hand, Merc misplayed it and now wants the rules changed to fix their own screw up.

More F1 drama from Merc. indecision

Seems Toto wants the rules changed for all teams because his can't get the bouncing under control.

"In addition to sport on the track, there is always a lot of politics going on in Formula 1 off the track. But such a clamor as in Montreal has not been experienced in the premier class for a long time. The bouncing problem of the new generation of racing cars and the possible dangers for the drivers divide the field into two camps. Mercedes is in one, and the nine remaining teams are in the other."

Yeah not sure what they wanted to achieved. They, like other teams, got the regulations early enough to be able to design a car properly. They sort of didn't and wanted regulations changed FOR them. Who they think they are? Red Bulls?

Honestly, everything was stacked against them to be the top dog forever. Regulations are suppose to even up the field, and it's doing it's job right now, knocking Mercedes from the top spot and let other teams have their shot at it.

Silverstone will be most interesting ----  Can Ferrari actually pull off a proper pitstop?? Are they really faster than RB?  Can toto's lawyer change some more rules for him???

"I don't want to sound like a retrospective person stuck in the past, but the fact remains that, in my day, everything was in the hands of the driver - the gear changes, the delicate art of clutch control during race starts, managing engine revs during gear changes - everything." - Niki Lauda

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

So Jacques was at my track earlier today.

We did a celebration of his WDC 25 years ago. Focus was on how Schumacher was trying to do a Prost and failed.

I asked him straight up who is gonna win the WDC this year.

He said Max, Max has the fastest car by a mile, he really needed that amazing car. And Leclerc is great but Ferrari can't help but tripping over themselves ever step of the way. If Ferrari only run their team half decent it's Leclerc's title to lose, but that's not the case right now.

My follow up was that is Max as much as the jerk as he is portrayed by the media in the paddock, and the answer is the he is worse that what we got from TV.

And his newborn son is so cute, like really cute.

Maybe I am biased. Actually I probably am. But him coming up Indy Light then win the Champ Car title, and also winning Indy 500 from 2 laps down, and then winning the F1 WDC is quite an accomplishment, There aren't really peers to that. He proves the American series do indeed produce worthy champions.

I'M confused - in the last paragraph you are discussing Jacques, not Max when you say "he", correct??  The record you descibe sounds like Jacques.  And I've said above with a picture off his [Jacque's:)] father -  Gilles was a great spirit and pedal to metal alla time driver, I still love him, as much as Ayrton.

    be26e58e203b1d92373ab68f37aece73.jpeg

And Jacques is so right about the Keystone Cops at FerrariSmiley. We'll see if he insight about Max winning, long way to go and if those mechanical failures on Checo's car weren't caused by him on Saturday, Max's car could fail any time.

And whose new born son are you referring to?]

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

Some guesses - yes Jacques records,  Max’s baby could not possibly be cute so I’m guessing Jacque again.
Big yes on his dad.  You would be happy to hear I named my T car Ayrton and not Gilles.

    Re: [2022] Formula 1

    Gilles , always sideways.

Yes the last paragraph is about Jacques and not Max.

His baby son made the debut back in Daytona in January, he's been flying lots alreadySmiley
