    Steering Wheel

    I have seen pictures of steering wheels with both V-shape and round hubs. Is the V-shape standard on the 997 and the round on the 997S? Thanks.

    V-shape (as you call it) = 997
    round-shape = 997 S

    Multi-function wheel (option on 997S) = V-shape as well
    So the "S" can have the larger (V) or smaller (Round) steering wheel
    or visa-versa on the non S
    It's an option choice!

    Regardless, they are both ugly.....they should be left on the Cayenne and the "round center" one looks like it came from a Nissan.

    Today I visited the dutch presentation of the 997, and I sat in both the 997 and the 997s... both steering wheels feel too thin for sporty driving to me. Especially the "ergonomic" wheel, with the thicker parts on the place of the hands felt very strange. I think I'd go with a non standar porsche wheel.

    I think that the large round center of the S version steering wheel, is a retro style that is reminicent of the 356 models
    of yesteryear. That is the only reason I can imagine for such a
    departure, and bold styling statement. I'm not sure that I love it, either. Future 997 S owner.... Revvv
