    New Esprit in Paris ?

73 days to go 1975 - Lotus Does the Time Warp 1975. Ah what a year (not so for Nixon advisors but hey you can't please all the people). The Watergate verdicts aside, 1975 was the year we saw Jaws encourage people to stay out of the sea, Margaret Thatcher become the first female leader of the Conservative party and the future face of British football emerge as David Beckham first drew breath. 1975 also marked the birth of another British legend when the Lotus Esprit was officially launched at the Paris Motor Show in October. Okay, the earth is still spinning around the sun, but wouldn't you agree that those things happening in 1975 changed the world a bit? Just a little bit? We do. And what we also know now is that 35 years later, something breathtaking will happen once again. Once more in Paris. Once more at the Motor Show. Perhaps a new Esprit? Perhaps not. Or perhaps even more? Feel free to guess what we're up to but ultimately you're going to have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, it'll be worth the wait. 16.45 CET 30th September 2010, Paris Motor Show. The future starts here. Source : http://lotus-central.com/en/news/509-73-days-to-go.html

If it is the new Esprit.... I hope it has a really fresh looking, advanced design.  It must be cutting edge,  so it will succeed  !!

Re: New Esprit in Paris ?

I do hope that Lotus come up with a stunning product, especially in this world dominated by Porsches and Ferraris.

+1 Smiley Gauss, how are you finding the iPad Smiley

The iPad is a nice piece. It is very practical if you want to relax a bit and surf the net. One of the strong points for example is, that you don't have to wait for a "startup" like on a real computer. You simply click on the button and you're already connected to the internet.

It is impressively quick. Whenever you go back to your iPhone (unless you're one of the lucky iPhone4 owners) you find it very boring and slow in comparison lol.

There are however a few points that I dislike :

    - no multitasking yet (will come with the iOS4, which is due in November?).

    - there are several web pages that aren't compatible

    - it is slightly too heavy to hold it comfortably in one hand over a long period of time.

    - iBook store is still not active in Europe (you can only download "free" eBooks)

I love the iPad, you can use it in so many different ways. You can also take your work with it. But it is also one of the objects that you don't really need! If that makes any sense.

It is no substitute for a computer. I see it more as some sort of a toy. Something that's practical yes, but not absolutely essential to own. But I guess, the usability purpose strongly depends on the user, doesn't it?

Sorry for having gone too much offtopic now Smiley
