    997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

Finally yesterday I saw the 997 series. It was a good day but too hot!!.
The 997S is great and its much better than the 996 series.
My 997S will be ready for end of August!!!!
Sorry for the modifications on the photos!!!

Hi Alex, if it was a girl on the picture, you could've just left her on there...!

i think it is funny that you find Porsche-brand architecture in so many countries. Audi does the same, but I find Porsche's much more stylish and impressive - and quite a bit teutonic to be honest!

Ferdie, to be honest I don't understand you. Probably you could use other words in order to explain yourself, I know sorry for my bad English!!

    Re: 997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

Alex, he hablado espanol in scuola, pero ingles es mas bien.

Como es la vida en Mallorca? Tu eres en la isla todo ano? No soy alli hasta ahora, muy extraordinario por un aleman...!

Okay, now I should better convert to English.

I was just joking, if it was your girlfriend in the picture.

I suppose it is Mallorca's Porsche dealer due to the architecure in the background. I know because of personal experience that Audi has a brand architecure (architecture guidelines for the whole world) so there might be a Audi dealer in Britain, one in Argentina and one in Germany and all salesrooms have a similiar architecure.

Porsche seems to do the same. I know some Porsche dealers in Germany that have a similiar architecure (notice the concrete basements next to the 993 & the steel framing for the roof)!

That's what I was trying to say - since English is not my native language either it might be a bit difficult to understand me... Sorry!

    Re: 997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

ok, now I understand you. haha, its not my girlfriend its my father. I had to do those modifications to the photo, cause my father ordered me to do it, you know just in case. Yeah I agree with you, about all Porsche centers are very similar, but this one is in Madrid, if you download any picture and put the zoom into the license you'll probably see the address" Porssche Centro Oeste Majadahonda". The Porsche Center here in Palma de Mallorca is a bit old fashion or at least the building , it has a very simple design and there are no similarities towards Porsche center in Madrid. I have to say that Porsche dealer in here(Palma de Mallorca) is a private business and the one in Madrid is owned by Porsche factory Germany.

    Re: 997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

Ah, thanks for the info! What about a Porsche dealer in Barcelona? Are you going to drive the car on the island?

By the way, Alex doesn't sound spanish...

    Re: 997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

Yes, I will drive the car to the island( Madrid then to Valencia and then pick the ferry which brings me to Mallorca. This is the third car I buy in Porsche Centro Oeste Majadohona in Madrid. Its a trip of three or four hours from Madrid to Valencia, I like it very much, the only problem is that I don't like to go at speeds more than 120kph or 140kph, you know new car new engine etc, so probably thats the part I dont like when GOING to Mallorca from Madrid, what I really like is the trip from Mallorca TO Madrid, there is where I can really see how is the car:1st, because motorways are 10 times better than in Palma, and 2nd, because when I drive with my car to Madrid is because its already sold, and I dont have any problems to push hard in the motorways.

Haha, My english is ok but sometimes I prefer to say things in Spanish ( most of the time), but thanks any way.
    Your spanish is ok too..

    Re: 997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

Thanks, but it could be much better anyways!

Sounds interesting, so you live on Mallorca most of the time?
Sorry to ask again, but isn't the Spanish version of Alex Alejandro? Stupid question...

    Re: 997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

No I don't live most of the time in Mallorca, I have house in Madrid and Barcelona too. But Mallorca is perfect, I just love it, specially the night life, haha!!
Yes of course Alex is Alejandro, Alexandro etc...
And Ferdie from Ferdinand no??, in spanish Fernando I think...

    Re: 997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

Yes, but my real name is Dirk (Diego?). I was looking for an appropriate name for Int. car forums and as a German, I chose Ferdie to be quite representing (since several persons of the Porsche clan are named Ferdinand)...

I want to come to mallorca anytime soon, have a friend who's family have an apartment - can't remember the name of the village though!

Might be that I do a trip through Spain later this year, Madrid and Barcelona (where I have some friends) should be an option to visit. Is it because of Barcelonean vs. Madrilene rivalry that you don't buy your cars in Barcelona...?

    Re: 997S testdrive+ceramic brakes.

Haha, nice try Ferdie. No the reason why I go to Porsche Madrid instead of Barcelona its quite simple, when having the 997S, this would be my 3rd car in that center+ with the same dealer, so you can imagine why , no?? I save money+ in some cases dealer invites me to Porsche trips and to the Jarama circuit in Madrid, and also treatment dealer-client is excellent.
I bought there a 996C4S 03" (it was magnific, very very nice, I have millions of photos), 2nd a 996 carrera cabriolet 04" with powerkit(the one of the trip), and now a 997S.
