    Off road I regard a Disco 4 as the ultimate vehicle.

    Defender IMO

     

    Having tried both, I would definetely say the Disco. The Defender would frequently dig itself into thick mud, whereas the clever electronics of the Disco apportioned torque according to conditions.


     

    Isn't axle articulation better on the Defender?

    No, not really (the Defender's articulation is roughly same as that of the Range Rover Mk1 and Discovery 1). The Defender holds a psychological advantage though as it is so rudimentary that you don't worry you might damage it. Smiley

    Ditto. I've had 3 Jeep Laredo's which were ok but the Jeep Jeep's really shake you up, it's a bumpy ride.. They're good for a beater out in the woods on trails but not for everyday living, highway, city driving, family stuff, long distance traveling....   You have to 18 again & never experienced the ride & interiors of SUVs like an Escalade, Denali, Tahoe, Navigator, Expedition, Hummer, Infiniti QX, Armada, Merc ML/GL etc etc. Even the modern day "pick-ups" are luxurious in ride, handling & amenities compared to Jeeps. And for what you get when you're done w/ all the options w/ a 4-speed auto V6 Jeeps are over priced /small  & the interiors are sparse..  Don't know if anyone has lived w/ a crew cab F-150 or a Ram 150 lately but they're awesome.  Great rides & space, all the features you could want, comfortable as anything.

    About being able to "pick out drivers of Hummers in a crowd", I'm sure people are thinking what I'm thinking & just don't want to say anything but weird that someone on a forum like RT would stereotype people for what they drive, we know better than anybody it's a shame when people say stuff like that. I bet there's people that say that of Bimmer or Porsche drivers.......Come on, lets have a live & let live attitude when it comes to vehicle choice, no?


     

    Yes i did sound a little too harsh there, but it just have had the worst luck with the few owners here locally.. my opinion is strongly based on those and does certainly not reflect all the owners. Didn't mean to come over as such a prick, people can indeed say this about anyone's vehicle choice.

    However, i do think the H2 is horrible in so many ways. I just don't see it. Finish and ride are the worst IMO, but size is sweet. But the few days that i do drive my dad's F350 it's quite a great feeling having all the space. The newer ones drive pretty damn well too.

    Greatest parts support vehicle ever..

    This climbing the wall is very impressiv! The dimensions which tyres going over the front end of the car allowing it. Any other car which same dimensions could be able to do this probably, too!
