    Extended warranty cost is going up on 1st September

    I just phoned my dealer to book my car in for its 20k service and asked about the extended warranty (my car will be two years old in January). I was told that it's going up in price on 1st September but that they don't know what the price will be yet. As a result I am going to take it out before then to get it at the old price - Pounds725 according to the lady I spoke to.

    So, if you are planning on taking out an extended warranty, probably worth doing it before then.

    is it really going to be more cost effective taking out now??? as in sept is 4 months early so it would need to be > 33% more in Jan, to be cost effective.

    Would be very useful if you could post an update if and when you get any more info Ed as mine will be 2 in Jan as well.

    Buy it now but it only becomes effective when the existing warranty runs out...
