    boxster tuners?

    are there any other companies that offer tuning packages for the boxster.

    companies i know of are:

    is there also any company that offers a supercharger or turbo system for the 987

    How about Ruf or Gembella - although I think they're more into the package deal rather than just a quick tune-up...

    Sounds better than the original, but it still doesn't really do it for me. Doesn't have the vicious bark of the 2nd generation 996 sports exhaust. That, for me anyway, is the best sports exhaust I have ever heard. The Speedart jobbie sounds a bit 'Capri' for me.

    Only my opinion of course.

    any superchargers out there? btw how much extra hp do you think stock 987s engine internals can handle?

    As RC has advised before here, don't even think of altering the tune of the engine as originaly set up by Porsche.

    I think RAMI tuned his 986 pretty much. around 380 BHP if I'm not mistaken.

    Couldn't agree more. I suspect 90% of Porsche owners are not skilled enough to safely utilise more than 80% (say) of their cars abilities. So add that 20% on to the Boxster S's 280bhp ups the power to 336bhp. Without invalidating the warranty and stressing any single component part beyond its design limits.

    Do yourself a favor and forget about tuning the Boxster.
    The chassis setup is almost perfect, no real need or possibility for improvement, on the contrary.
    The engine isn't made for high power tuning, especially not for supercharging or turbo charging.

    The ONLY new Porsche models which are somehow "good" for engine tuning are those which are yet to come: the 997 GT3 and 997 Turbo. Their engine blocks are still based on the older group C racing cars design, same with the 996 Turbo/GT2/GT3 or even the 993 series.
