Carlos from Spain:
Thats a good point too, also I love the exhaust sound of the "997.1 PSE" which is night and day compared to the 991 Turbo, and then there is the loosing the manual shifting due to PDK, and added weight as well as softer ride... lots of changes that I'm not sure how I going to like after a while of ownership. I see no obviuos choice right now

GT3 is my favorite 911 model but for the amunt of kilometers I will drive it and also all year aroound as a daily drivver I'm afraid the GT3 would not fit well for that use

Thanks Joe!
@Reginos, I already have a 997 just the way I like it, manual, PSE, and -20mm... I would not gain that much by going to a 997.2 even if its a beautiful GTS. If I change my 997 its got to be for a 991 variant were I would get the new chasis, new interior, etc.

When Carlos reaches 200.000 km, Porsche should make a gift to him, like a new car at a very special price.
A modern 911 reaching such a mileage without any serious issues, contrary to the negative reputation cultivated on the internet. Something for Porsche Marketing to attend to.
Reginos - in the 356 times when a customer would reach 100,000 km , he/she would receive a letter and a badge from Porsche . Would be a great courtesy from Porsche to bring this back to customers like Carlos.

I didn't know that, thanks for the information.
The way things used to be!

Of course in "the old days" 100k was a major achievement (62.5k miles). Modern cars can do that no sweat.
Great get together Carlos, enjoyed reading and seeing the photos - it reminds me back in 2005-6 when a whole load of us here got our first Boxsters, we organised quite a few "Rennteam Meets" - sadly this tailed off and doesn't happen any more - be great to do a re-run one day!
