watt, I’m not sure if it will come this year or the next. There are so many rumours out there regarding the GT4.

I’ve read GT4 this year (November?) and GT4 RS next year...yes

Btw., what if the rumoured GT4 RS were in fact the new GT4 Clubsport (not streetlegal)?

It will be one hell of a car though...

Watt, nobody really knows right now...

GT4 should be available this year but I think it is too late for a release without a particulate filter, so it could be early next year when it happens.

Too much going on at Porsche right now... Smiley

As we were told the first customer GT4 ClubSport race cars will be delivered next year at the ROAR, which is Jan 5th-8th, that means the cars will be introduced at the LA Autoshow the latest. Maybe even earlier.

Do't think they will introduce the race car before the street car, so I think they will reveal both at the same time.

The GT4RS however will be another story.

What's the purpose of the 4.0l N/A GT4 RS, if the CS is based on the turbo 4 cyl. GT4 ? I don't see it's purpose of existance.

Where did you get that idea of a turbo 4 GT4?

It has always going to be a flat 6 NA for the GT4.

    More than 600LT?

    That's a good question.

I have a 600LT config-ed and ordered as of today, gonna have my dealer's first car. so shouldn't take that long.

This is all due to Porsche delaying my GT2RS for 5 months. Had they not, I would have taken delivery of my GT2RS already and nothing else would interest me.

Price wise, the GT4RS will have a big advantage, 600LT should cost around 50% more I think if not 100% depending one market. The 600LT will easily be Turbo S Exclusive money.

Performance wise, the GT4RS won't be able to touch the 600LT, current McLaren's are all punching above their specs.

Feel wise, probably not so much though, I think the 600LT would still have that sterile McLaren feel.

No benefit from hydraulic rack with special fast track ratio?

Hydraulic rack advantage is over blown. And faster ratio is not always beneficial, it could make the car too nervous, and McLaren's are already that with the narrow tires.

I believe Porsche is already on their 4th generation of electric rack. The current Cup car is electric, and I had been racing it, honestly, it is providing fantastic feel at the limit.

Bet you anything, if we put some journalists back to back on blind tests, they WILL NOT be able to tell a difference, or even might pick the electric rack instead.

I think the LT will work out too much of a financial risk for me. Hopefully they’ll sell me some kind of GT car at some point - mine is already the longest I’ve kept a car in 20-odd years.

How would you guess performance would stack up against the 3RS?  Curiously a 600LT costs more or less the same as 3RS here..

"Don't think they will introduce the race car before the street car"

That just means they will introduce the street car before or together with the race car.

And the latest they can introduce the race car is LA  Autoshow cause of the timing. Sothe street car should be revealed at LA Autoshow or before that.

Traction wise, the 3RS will have a big advantage over the 600LT, wider tires and less HP less torque.

On a track, that seems to be a big advantage, corner harder, exit corner harder, etc. The 600LT no doubt will have the speed advantage on straights, but will that be enough to overcome cornering deficit?

The 918 proved that the Porsche way is faster over the P1, cornering speed and corner exits are key, terminal speed at end of straights are secondary.

And knowing Porsche, The GT4RS will be just that little bit slower than the GT3RS Smiley

But ti's a more balanced platform, so it should be more fun to drive at the limit.
