Not sure about this apparent obsession with 200-300 times - you'd probably find the, say, 200 - 280 times similar but because the turbo has a lower top speed than, say, the DBS, or the 458, or the SL65 (my guesses, 3 examples which come to mind), it will lose out in the final push to 300. Might be important in some sort of puerile drag race but for me, stability at 160mph is more important.

is the 458 more fast of Turbo PDK 0-300km/h?
somebody knows to inform the oficial time or test time the 0-300km/h of 458?

458 will be slightly faster
it should do 0-300 in low 30's
ok, but i never see any oficial Ferrari´s specs or Autocar, Evo, Auto Motor, TOP GEAR, BEST MOTORING etc.... test... 0-300km/h of 458!!!
only bla bla bla....
Which is the real 0-300km/h of 458?
another question:
Wich is the 0-300km/h of F430?
or Ferraris in the real life never go to 300km/h, is only for Porsches?!?!

Look at the figures on Fastes Laps
I compare 997.2 TT with 997.1 TT
and 997.1 TT is faster at 200-300 than 997.2 TT!
Thats fantastic but it is

i agree with all of RC has sad...
but he compared the PDK till 300km/h with a car with 50hp MORE than the stock 997.2TT
like i always said... the dual clutch makes BIG ADVANTAGE from low speeds where the SHIFT TIME REALLY MATTERS, 1st to 2d, 2nd to 3rd AND 3rd to 4th..... in these changes the dual clutch really puts nice meters in front of your "drag friend"
AFTER that the dual clutch doesnt have any advantage of any other gearbox because what really matters after that is just POWER!
so... i mean, from 200 to 300km/h for example the advantage of the TURBO PDK vs the 997TT will be only the 20hp MORE. and thats it. im STILL hoping another NICE test till 300km/h with the pdk, i think it can be 2,3 sec faster the THE MKI
what we are really missing is simple... POWER.... LP560=560hp, 458 = 580hp its hard to keep with them after 200km/h
now imagine the turbo with the PDK and 560-580hp GAME OVER again! LOL

The aerodynamics are virtually identical 997tt mk1 vs 997tt mk2 so the only thing slowing up that 0-300kph is power wilting at full loads.
The Mk1 is nearly 3 seconds faster 200-300kph with supposedly 20PS less !!
This points worryingly at the new engine, for some reason it is "wilting" when fully loaded - most other makes of cars have always done this, (kompressor mercs for example) but Porsches have always kept their rated power - that is why the 300kph measure is important it reveals a lot about an engine system.

I give you a hint: you have to think that in the 0-100mt the exit-speed of 458 is 270km/h...so the 0-300km/h is under 30seconds...let's say 28-29s and it's faster than 599gtb in ferrari tests

I would very much like to see the same run with the 997.2 TT with a manual transmission. If the data collected above is correct, the manual's gear ratio appears to be the same as the 997.1 TT. If the advantage of PDK is removed, I'd like to see the true effect of the new engine on a high speed run.

28-29 secs is very strong for 458
its level of 997.1 TT Stage 3 with modified turbod from GT2...
we have such measures by professional telemetry.
BUT - the question I am worried of is that MK2 is slower from 200 to 300 than MK1.... IT's very very strange and not good at all.... I am not sure that this new engine is that good or what else?

570PS naturally aspirated, 0.33Cd, 360kg downforce at 202mph......
I would be VERY surprised if the 458 dips under 30s 0-300kph. A real 570PS 997tt may manage 28-29s but it is very slippy and a turbo power curve is so much fatter delivering a lot more power climbing up the top end of its rev band. I don't follow Ferraris but this looks like it is going to be fairly draggy with its high downforce #

for information, yesterday I made rooling start 70/80km/h to 250/270km/h "MY" F430 2008 vs 997Turbo MK1 2009 stock no chances for the F430, at 3º/4º gear the Turbo pass MY F430!!!
but the MOST INCREDIBLE was rooling start Scuderia vs 997TT MK1 520hps with chip, "ONLY CHIP" 70/80km/h to 250/270km/h and the result is NO CHANCES FOR THE SCUDERIA at 270km/h the Scuderia was 3/4 cars behind the 997TT 520hps with chip!!!

The 997tt facelift results must be wrong. It lists the 1/4 mile at 11.19 at 128mph. That is about 10mph too optimistic

i would not say too optimistic...
a car mag did 11,2 sec at 125mph with the 997TT PDK, the new 911 from a dig its a very very bad one!
The time is believable for PDK and LC. Even the Gen 1 997tt hit a 11.2s 1/4 mile in cold temps by Motortrend, but the 128 mph trap speed though requires about 600 hp.

not exaclty eclou...
it trap 125 mph with only 500hp... the PDK really put nice numbers and fast trap speeds due its very very FAST CHANGES.
with another 40hp(maybe a chip or EXHAUST) this car will trap easily 128mph and probably a 10 sec car.
you will need 600hp in the 997TTmkI to trap 128mph...
PDK is no JOKE.

Gene, remember it is doing 124mph at the 10.4s mark thanks to LC and PDK so another ~4mph in 0.8s sounds pretty correct ?

This is what really counts, first hand experience and no blá blá blá, go to the road and test the cars, that´s the way to go Nino, GREAT post

There is no way the 997.2 hits 128 mph in the 1/4 mile - this is about 7-12 mph faster than the 997.1 based on the testing done on various magazines across the continents. This would put the 997.2 car lengths ahead of the 997.1, and with that advantage it should hit 300 kph faster than the 997.1.

cmon eclou im talking about facts, no speculation...
the 997TT mk1 with good launches could do 11-5~11.9 at around 119-123mph...
"This would put the 997.2 car lengths ahead of the 997.1"
YES IT WILL PUT bus lenghts in the MK1 IT ALREADY DID A 11.0~11.2 SEC (it means 5-6 cars lenght)
like i said... the 997TTPDK wil trap around 124-127mph, since car mags have been doing 10 high sec to 200km/h the car passed low 11 in the quarter no MATH necessary, MORE THAN 125mph of trap speed.
YES I HAVE NO DOUBT THE PDK TT will beat in same conditions the MK1 till 300km/h there is no reason porsche introduced the PDK for offer a SLOWER car than it previous.
we are not just talking about a DUAL CLUTCH transmission, were talking about the BEST DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION in the market.
this thing really works
If the trap were true it would be a significant performance benchmark. However, I am very skeptical - trap speed is dependent on horsepower and time is more dependent on the launch. I can believe the low 11's with PDK/LC but the trap speed is well beyond a 20hp improvement over the 1st gen. The Italians with F1 shifters and LC require a min 560-600hp to hit 129mph trap speeds. I think that as more tests come out we will know for sure.
