    OT - FIA Papers

    Sorry for this off topic post. For those of you in Europe, what is the significance of "FIA Papers"? I'm looking at purchasing an older 911 that comes with FIA papers and I don't know what those are for and why I would care?? They are supposed to fax them to me but I have not seen them yet.

    I wish I could explain it in English. When a car has FIA papers, it means that it is ready (certified) for racing and fullfills the FIA regulations. On "historic" cars this means that you're allowed to participate in certain historic car racing classes.
    FIA means Federation Internationale de L'Automobile and the FIA represents the governing body of motor sport worldwide. Some kind of United Nations for Motorsport.
