Yes, but I won't get the magazine here until Saturday. I gather it's a preview of the new car for journalists.

If someone from Germany reads AZ let us know.

No, Porsche, like other german car companies, allows from time to time a very limited group of car journalists from one or two car magazines to join them in the final stages of prototype testing. They need to sign a NDA and are allowed to publish only data/photos Porsche agrees with. Sometimes the photos are provided by Porsche only.

This is actually good publicity, they've done this before with the 997.

Wow, what a change! The new Cayenne may actually become one of the best looking SUVs on the market right now. Looks like a first generation Cayenne and an Infiniti had sex. I like it.

"Exclusive Test" my a.., they just translated the article from german car magazine Auto Zeitung and posted the photos from them.  Smiley

Yes, no PDK, instead a new Aisin 8-speed auto tranny with very short 1st and 2nd gears.

With launch control, the 0-100 kph acceleration of the Turbo is 4.6 seconds, without it 4.9. Pretty impressive since this is just the Turbo, not the S.

The 8th gear is going to be very looooooooong, they need to lower fleet consumption. Smiley

Btw: the 200 kg weight reduction is the maximum weight reduction achieved comparing it with the heaviest fully optioned current Cayenne. In general, the "real life" weight reduction will be in the 120-150 kg range, which is still impressive.

It is also weird that they mention that the Hybrid will be delayed. If so, this isn't a good thing. I'm also missing the 300+ HP Diesel I heard about from development rumors. Smiley

Re: 2011 Cayenne with no camo

when will we see Turbo S?

Re: 2011 Cayenne with no camo

Looked over the AutoZeitung article, apart from the facts mentioned in the above article from Autocar there are references to the rear bench (variable lenghtwise and in backrest angle), therefore achieving a maximum load capacity of 670 litres in the trunk.

Actually, I found the comparison of Scirocco R vs. Cayman much more interesting in that magazine.

Re: 2011 Cayenne with no camo

Forgot to mention another thing: Rennteam was the ONLY source stating that the new Cayenne is NOT going to be downsized (on the contrary), like many other websites and car magazines suggested over the past couple of months.

Seems we've been right all the time, including the predicted power output for both, the S and Turbo.

Turbo S should be available aprox. 12 months later. Turbo S development has almost finished, so it is only a matter of time and marketing decision.
