CloseIn year 4 of Porsche's involvement with Formula E, and 1st year of running customer cars in the series, a WDC title is finally coming Porsche's way, via their customer team Andretti driver Jack Dennis.
The Constructor title is still mathematically possible, the factory team is 27pts off the lead and the Andretti team is 32 with a total of 47 pts up for grab Sunday in London.

To be fair, the endurance side with the 963 isn't run by Porsche, it is run by Penske. Nothing against Penske, they are still one of the greatest American race team, but still far from a proper full factory Porsche effort.
The Formula E team IS a factory effort however. But it was never a top shelf priority project, more or less a pet project as Formula E is still a side show compared to proper motorsport racing. And the Porsche Formula E team is still a bit inexperienced as compared to the longer running Andretti team, which only switched to Porsche from BMW this year.
This year Formula E has taken out the time based racing and fan boost feature out of the series, thus making it less random, but the on track random mayhem are still bountiful.

Only partly true: The Porsche Penske Team (note how the first name is Porsche) is very, very close to a factory team. Porsche is paying for everything that is "movable" in the Team (salaries, cars, etc). As you can see from the link that I provided it is a bicephalous organization and very much a considered a "factory team.

Yes I read that before.
Personal are still mostly Penske people, Porsche only injected a limited number of their own into the team. For example, the team masseuse is a Penske personal, so is the physiotherapist, so are the mechanics, those aren't Porsche people even when Porsche is paying the bill.
For me to consider a non-factory team to be just about factory, it has to be like a Manthey Racing team. Porsche Penske isn't like that yet.

....but they are considered (by Organizers, Competitors, Press, etc) to be a Factory Team.
Either way; they need to do much, much better.
