Re: Official pictures: Bentley Continental GT Speed

not really liking the new wheels. anyone know when the CGT is to be replaced? should be within the next year or two?

Re: Official pictures: Bentley Continental GT Speed

The CGT is just too fat and ugly - fits the description of most of the owners as well

Nice number plate, famous Bavarian expression.

Concerning the car, I think it doesn't need the extra-hp, but customers will surely buy it.

Re: Official pictures: Bentley Continental GT Speed

Very desirable GT car, besides good news that carbon ceramics brakes are now available

I was in London a month ago and taking into account the whole Continental range I spotted at least 5/6 of them each day. It seems to be really sought-after car(s) there

Also 600 BHP seems to be the new norm for high-end front-engined coupes (599GTB, AMGs 65,...)

I wonder who in the position of being able to afford one will go to the lesser version and not directly choose the more powerful one

    Exactly my thoughts.

New steering wheel, HUGE improvement there...

So let's ask MikeS to see if we are right.

P.S: in the today issue of AMS, there are pictures of the very same F430 Scuderia as in the press release, but with anthracite wheels. It looks hot. Get one. Now.

    Mike has already ordered two.

    Just kidding.
Concerning the wheels of the Scuderia I have to admit, that I like the golden ones better than the anthracite ones.

I will tell you, if I get one. Promise.

Hi Rossi, I had a black CGT a few years back, car is nice but DAMN it is heavy on fuel!

LOL indeed. I never understood why more people don't buy the very similarly priced DB9...

The car is simply too fat.

As Moogle already said, if I was interested in a big GT and if it has to be from the UK, I would have a look at Aston Martin first.

    Do you like it?

It somehow reminds me of a Volvo.

Re: Official pictures: Bentley Continental GT Spee

    Way better than this:

"WO" as in William Owen Bentley, or

"I wo" as in "Germans have a sense of humor after all"?

I think probably the former, since Bentley went to Volkswagen and Rolls-Royce to the Bavarians (BMW).

On the other hand, we might see a new RR with number plate "AU WE1" sometime in the future.

The dealer didn't get the first one out of the showroom and into Mike's garage fast enough?

Re: Official pictures: Bentley Continental GT Speed

Nice car! I love those new rims!

Am among at least 4-5 colleagues (in SF/LA/Greenwich/London) who will trade-in our CL63s for CL65 in Sept....if traction/nose-heaviness/muffled exhaust note of 65 is what I expect, will ask my dealer to order me another new CL63 and trade-in CL65....and I suspect my jaded colleagues have similar view (we've all owned many new 55/65/63's)....

Same several colleagues are trading in their 599s this Fall for lower hp/tq Scuds.....if tq-free Scud proves annoying enough in real-world use, I suspect these guys will simply order new 599s again and trade-in Scuds....

Net, net, many guys who've owned various 600hp+ cars know there are multiple dimensions to enjoyable performance/confidence-inspiring safety/daily useability on real-world fast urban fwys/mtn twisties.....and many alleged sporty cars w/>450hp struggle to deliver class-leading, useable overall perf/safety (no matter hp/tq) in a fast-advancing, competitive automotive tech landscape....

Re: Official pictures: Bentley Continental GT Spee

Do they even drive them after the beak-in period?

Re: Official pictures: Bentley Continental GT Spee

CGT vs. DB9 - Usable back seat, plusher ride, higher reliability, and more luxurious interior. Just a few that come to mind.
