    Can we order this Gear lever ???

    I saw a 997 c4s at my dealer with a very impressive Gear lever in aluminium. It's a demo car; when I asked about it, they told me that they do not have any information on those exclusive parts in that car... Do any of you guys have any information on that and how to order it? in terracota...

    the leather stripes inside the gear knob can be ordered in the same interior leather color.....

    I am ordering the same. I could not find it anywhere and my dealership is helpless as usual so I contacted Exclusive in germany directly. It is option code X97 and can be ordered. Tell your delarship to contact Exclusive if they need help.

    So it is not "ONLY" a factory exclusive option? i.e. can exculsive parts be ordered after the delivery of the car? To order it I just ask for the X97 part number? Thanks for your help!

    It is true X97 code is factory option only... You may find very hard to order it as replacment part threw your dealership. There is interesting Tequipment option if you are interested-Part Nr.997 044 800 70 + interior color number. Here is how it look:

    this is the new twinspeed S gearbox, developed by walter röhrl for bi-manual shifting!

    Regarding exclusive department / exclusive department parts:

    exclusive parts cannot be ordered from the factory, only as replacement parts.

    you must have the VIN of a car that came with these parts from the factory and order them as replacements.

    however, there are some 'facilitators' of this that can make the process easier,

    gert @ carnewal.com works miracles when it comes to these difficult factory logistics.

    X97 is gorgeous but it is Pounds404 !!! That's really pricy! I may not like the standard gear lever that much but Pounds404 is a lot of cash for a slightly different design IMO.

    It's machined aluminum,--but I had to draw the line at the price.

    But as one of the key interfaces with the car (steering wheel being the other) the more tactile the better. So Pounds404 seems a fairly small price to pay compared to the purchase price, even if it cannot be said be represent value for money.

    Anyway that was my reasoning when ordering the previous version on both my 986's

    Hello,
    I have a full deviating red stitching on black leather in my C4s cabrio and the only way to have red stitchings also on the gear shift and on the parking brake lever was to order this option. Unfortunately at the time of the original order it was not available so now I have to wait two months to have it. It is expensive but it would really complete the look of my beauty.
