    anyone here get the porsche short shifter installed?

    do you like it? anyone have it removed?

    Yep, I put it in and I like it much better than without it. It's smooth and definately less through. I can't, however, compare it to other shifters as I have know experience with them.

    Others want to comment on their Short Shifters manufactured by someone other than what Porsche supplies?

    I got the Porsche SSK about a month or so ago. It felt REALLY short at first. Now that I've gotten used to it, I wouldn't go back. Feels great!

    Done it twice so far. P's (B&M) both times.

    Nice. The last one had to be adjusted for excessive play after a few months. Might want to keep an eye out for this. Certainly not an issue to prevent me from putting another one in.

    I've got the SSK, like TX911 said, it feels short at first, but eventually you forget you ever installed one. IMO.. not a very important upgrade.

    Had a B&M SSK installed about a month ago in my -99 C4 and I love it!

    First I thought it was almost too short (minus 37%), but now it feels natural. Gave the 996 that "mechanical" click-click shifting action that was missing before. In comparison stock action felt like an old VW tranporter...

    I would rate the SSK as #2 on my list of mods, right after the essential sport exhaust. (Fabspeeds in my case)

    B&M are OEM for Porsche, quality and finish is impressive. Price is right too.
