Thanks to ERDoc, Eslai and JimFlat6 and everyone who has helped me. Here's for anyone who worries about their roof or paintjob. The cat not only destroyed my roof (I now put car covers on my car) but also that of my father's. It had decided to sleep on my father's car which is parked next to mine (a Jag coupe) and put 3 big scratches on its sunroof and paint.

Or even one of those motion tracking weapons like the one's on the film Alien with a suitably armed arsenal .
