I like Guards Red too. I had a 997 in this colour. Gorgeous! It just 'feels' off with the yellow brake calipers on a red car. Or?

I see what you mean. Red with red brakes (or yellow with PCCB) would look better, but that's a personal preference. Some may appreciate the contrast detail and match it with yellow seatbelts and stitching for example.

here's a yellow with PCCB (edit: I believe it's just painted calipers?) :

I would suggest you choose a flashy colour. You can't just switch from awesome Riviera blue to a boring grey Smiley

Some people might mistake it for a Carrera GT then Smiley

GT Silver is nice too, but the price is close to PTS and if they cannot deliver PTS I am not paying up. Amen.

In hindsight I agree. I thought that there might be some difference in the look and quality of the paint but standard paint looks great and Gt silver still chips like h*ll on the autobahn just the same as the rest. I even resent a bit paying for metallic as other non-metallics are just as hard to get a decent optical finish for Porsche. If you can't have a cool colour like Riviera then frankly I wouldn't bother! My next car will probably be from the standard colour list.

LOL! You are right. I hurts to go from Riviera bliss to one of the three shades of grey-brown moss.

The added advantage with yellow is that I could double-up as postman in the neighbourhood.

Racing Yellow, black interior, bkack roof, yellow stitching (instead if PTS) and yellow dials (that standard one silver rev counter is hard to read sometimes). indecision

Alternative: (I considered one in this configuration) Rhodium Silver, black roof, LTS black red interior. smiley (Doesn't really work with yellow calipers though)

Love that interior! I saw this leather sample in Zug but never found it in the configurator. But it will take them forever to find a black-red cow for LTS so will be same story as with PTS Smiley

Maybe you could consider a Purple/white two-tone interior.... I know some Milka cows in that color scheme! Smiley

I would go with one of these two:

Speed Yellow, black interior, black wheels, black top, yellow stiching, yellow seatbelts, PCCB

White, luxor beige interior, non painted wheels, yachting blue top, yachting blue seatbelts, PCCB

Of the selection you posted, the yellow is by far the best looking IMO. I'd like silver (as when clean it seems to have a deeper dimension than the flat colours - just like my basalt 991) but I don't see it working with brown interior. I'm not a fan of painted wheels but the satin look OK on darker cars. (but to me, a Boxster needs bright colours) If you're feeling bold, yellow with black & yellow belts, centre console & rollover hoops would be great.

I agree, speed yellow actually looks very good on the 981, wasn't a fan of yellow on the 986 and 987.

My daughter calls this color "Kaki" but not in a positive sense. Not a fan of brown but even if I were, it makes the Boxster look too elegant for my taste.

Thanks for finding the pics. Smiley This is the car from the Exclusive catalogue and it looks great. If you look closely it has the exterior parts (side air intake, side mirror, rear diffusor, etc.) painted black rather than the matte plastic. The shiny black parts fits a yellow care very well IMHO.

I am still in favor of matte platinum wheels than black wheel though Smiley

racing yellow is lighter than speed yellow, and IMO speed yellow is much nicer .. more depth and less shouty than racing yellow.

racing yellow reminds me the yellow you find on Renault Clios

I wouldn’t buy the car with only my second best choice PTS color for that money (I am a happy owner of a 981S PTS “grauschwarz”). Every time I woluld use that car I would think about my preferred PTS color.

Personal tase: Speed yellow is a great color for the Boxster (had a 986), I don't like the new yellow. Not as bad as the old light yellow (can't remember the name) of the 986/996 years, but worse than speed yellow. Best yellow: signal yellow (we have a rennteam member who owns a Carrera GT in signal yellow, what a car!)

At teamspeed are some nice thread "All the shades of ..." Probably the best fotocollection if you are looking for a special Porsche color.

Agreed on the painted black 'black' plastic parts. The unfinished plastic looks pretty cheap.Especially after they get a bit dirty. I saw that there are aftermarket (but what look like good quality) carbon parts to replace them as well in Germany (DB Carbon) if you like contest but want some 'bling'. I haven't seen them personally but I like the idea

Yes, I have seen those carbon parts as well for the 981 and I had the entire interior on my previous 987 replaced by carbon parts from DB. Top quality stuff, but the cost quickly adds up.

I will wait for a build date with PTS. Only if it turns out to then be delivery after the summer I will go for a standard colour. Most likely yellow or white.
