He may have referred to the 991.2 GT3 which is rumored to offer a rear wing delete.
There are various other possibilities of course as well, why not milk the cow as long as it produces tasty milk?

My dealer has put the finishing touch to my car - red door pulls to match the seat belts. I went with platinum stitching so the car arrived with the standard black door pulls. The red ones are a small but effective detail. Apparently the guy who takes the car to the local petrol station to fuel it up said he has never had so much interest in a car before. When he came back from paying for the fuel there was a small crowd gathered around the car taking photo's of it. They all loved the colour. It's being delivered to me tomorrow but the weather forecast isn't good unfortunately.

Porsche is in the business of selling cars and if the demand for those limited editions is there why not satisfy it ? Even if Porsche will build a follow up to the Cayman GT4 calling it R or RS or whatever , the original GT4 will still be a great car.
The "harris tweed seat inlays" are a matter of personal taste; the reason they are there is that Porsche used them for the seats inlays at the end of the sixties and beginning of seventies on the 911s (both street and racing). The tradition then continued many years later with the 991 50Y anniversary edition which also had those Pepita inlays . I have them on my 1969 911 S and I appreciate them on the new R.

I was ahead of the game in 2006 with solid white on my Gallardo. 2 years later Lamborghini used it as the launch colour for the LP560-4. I spec'ed Racing Yellow on my 991 C2S and two years later Porsche used it as the launch colour for the GT4. I spec'ed dark orange on my 458 spider in 2013 and 2 years later Porsche use it as the launch colour for the GT3 RS along with a myriad of other car makers including Lotus for their latest Elise. I therefore expect to see lime green on all sorts of cars at Geneva in 2018

Well I've only had it for 90 minutes and have thus far spent 50 of those talking to a random guy who was passing as it was unloaded and had to stop to take a photo and ask about it followed by my neighbour who came round as soon as he saw it and then a parcel delivery driver who was smitten by it. Everyone has loved the colour. At this rate I won't be able to actually drive it if people don't leave me alone

. That much for a Cayman...even if it's GT4 it's way too much imho. So looks like I'll wait for more attractive offer
