    I like what you have written and it took me a while to find this board as I have been searching the net for more information. I have ordered a 997s approximately a month ago: I am the previous owner of a 2003 tt coupe as well as a 2003 c4s which i miss more than the turbo. The S has excited me since the first review but having not liked the 996TT, i have been concerned as usual. I am thankful that you have written such an in-depth and honest review. Keep up the good work. I shall be sleeping better this evening now that I have read your comments. Cheers

    Yeah, i'm very curious too. What did you not like about the Turbo and for that what did you like about the 4s. Thanks.

    It must be because of the red strip at the rear of the 4S I couldn't think of anything else

    I'm curious as to the reasons for your preference as well. I've been considering moving into a 997tt when they roll out. I currently drive an '04C4S, which by the way, I absolutely love.

    I think the pasm in comfort mode is way rougher than current 996, for a daily driver. The car is very rough liike my 996 with H&R springs...I thought it would be a smoother ride in comfort mode but no way!!!

    So you would recommend -20mm suspension over PASM, RC? If PASM has the wonderful ability to change settings, so you can have a very comfortable road ride, then tighten it up for track use (if you also have sport chrono), isn't that the best of both worlds?

    since you own a Cayenne Turbo do you think the Carrera S (tiptronic) is faster than your cayenne in 0-100 ?
    I know there is a 0.3 sec def in the papers but what do you think is faster?

    From my point of view (993 with GT3 MK I 18" Sport Design wheels) 997S in comfort mode is just perfect for a daily driver. Even in sport mode it seems not to be rougher than my current car. However, I must admit that I did most of my 997S test drive in comfort mode.

    don't worry I will never ever sell that 993
    This car is unique. I haven't seen another zenith blue 993 coupe with the GT3 wheels and chrome-plated tailpipes yet.

    I have just uploaded 2 pics to my user photo gallery. I will make better ones in summer.

    To contribute to the thread, my 997S test drive car had the short shifter. Outside temperature was below 15*C. The first few minutes I really had a hard time shifting the gears. After that, shifting the gears was smooth and fast. Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend the short shifter if you are living in a country with many cold days and if you don't intend to drive the car on the track.

    Thanks for the pics ewi, the car looks GREAT. People are always saying that the 997 went back to the classic looks of the 993 but I don't see that at all. The 997 is the 996 with round lights, it's very nice but the the 993 on the other hand is just pure Porsche 911.
