    at first sight i was disappointed about the 612's look. but it is really growing on me. it is elegant, subtle, timeless, free of any razzmatazz. an in a world gone crazy where 20" seem small, it is quite beautiful to see some conservative, classy rims again IMO. if i'd have the money i would definitely go out and buy the scaglietti.

    The 612 seems to have a timeless design as the 456. I'm sure it will still look beautiful and fresh in a couple of years. zz is absolutely right with the 20" rims.
    And for me the Scaglietti has one of the most beautiful interiors of all cars currently available.

    its reduced, sporty, elegant and italian at the same time. a masterpiece!

    rossi, i'm still waiting for a topic where we are of a different opinion about something. but it's highly unlikely i suppose

    I'm not too impressed by the interior either.
    Does not look worth over 200,000 Euros.
    My Ferrari contact told me that a GPS screen will be available soon, why not now!!! That CD tray is not even a CD charger, works ok in the Porsche, it's just pathetic in a car like the Scaglietti, hidden behind a big plastic flap.
    Along the same lines, the Maserati Coupe interior is much better IMO.
    The dials arrangement look a bit weird as well, works fine on the Enzo but it's far from classy. This looks like it will be the dials arrangement for Ferraris to come.
    The most beautiful thing in that car is its V12. It will sell bc it's a Ferrari, but IMHO, the DB9 is a much better alternative. Inside and out.
    Ferrari offers 19 in wheels as an option, they should be standard, the wheels look ridiculously small compared to the car.
    Overall, I really mixed impressions. The outside is beautiful, but I prefer the DB9, or even the Bentley GT to talk about the competition.
    The interior is just not good enough on a car of that price.

    what color it is? rosso fiorano? the external design is great with 19" wheels but IMHO the interior is below any new Maserati...

    Exactly my point Mike.
    Average buyer for a 612 will be more comfort and GT orientated than sport, otherwise, there is the 575.
    See, the 612 interior would be perfect in the 575 or Modena, but again, no way near as class and cossety as the Aston or Bentley.
    I don't know what the Ferrari Maserati group are doing with new models...
    I love the Maser Coupe but what about the Quattroporte?
    It is stunning inside and out, but by trying to be two cars in one with a less than perfect gearbox (which is acceptable in a Coupe) it fails to be a proper car.
    Buyers of that car are looking for a family or business limo before all, otherwise, they go for the equally proced Coupe, I fear they will be horrified by the jerky duo select gearbox.
    And here's my point with the 612, body is great appart from wheels too small, so why not finish the job and do the interior justice???
    200,000 Euros car buyers don't want a protruded fat piece of black plastic surrounded by beige leather elsewhere that hide a CD storage tray! Shame... They try though...

    Sorry to say, but the Continental GT is a real porker, it's only good as a cruiser on a straightaway. If thats what you like then the car will suit you perfectly, but don't try pushing this car hard on the twisties. But look out, because things might change with the VW/ Maserati colabo. as it is reported that Bentley could switch back to RWD for the C-GT.

    Regarding the interior, lets remember that this is supposed to be a performance car, and cd changers, gps, and all of these luxuries are all weight adders. IMO weight=the enemy. To me, the Enzo's interior is "beautiful". Functional, simplistic, and totally extreme. That said, being that this is more of a GT car, the interior should indeed be at least on par with cars like the Mercedes SL55, or a BMW M5, which this new 612 defenintely is not. With regard to GPS, to me, the whole concept of a GT car is the journey, not the destination.

    I'm just talking about aesthetics here. Dynamics are another concern which will not be the main priority of the clientele. Those concerned by dynamics will turn to the 575 I presume. The 612 is the archetype of the cross continental GT. As you said the Bentley GT is a fat hippo, it weighs more than 2.5 tons! But IMHO, is classier than the 612 (the interior that is, I'm not a big fan of the GT exterior). Best GT for me now easthetically, the DB9.

    I couldn't agree with you more. But the problem is that there is what the costumer need and what the car needs. It should be available as an option at least, just to be on par with the competition. It's standard now on most of the competition. It's even standard on the 996 Turbo!
    I always prefer taking the twisties to go from A to B, like you apparently. But a GPS is a really useful toy for travelling trust me.
    And there are all the extras, the phone, the trip computer, the TV, the internet. A GT is not only sporty, it has to be the optimal place to do a journey in.
    Plus as I said before, Ferrari cannot rely only on the sporting dynamics of the car, otherwise its direct competitor will be the 575

    i don't agree at all.

    mega-rims may be the latest thing to have for guys like 50 cent, but IMO this trend to go oversize (and chrome) is kind of ridiculous and not even beautiful. ride doesn't improve as well. the 612's rims are classy and suit the car.

    although i agree that on RC's pics the material finish does look a little bit cheap, the pureness and sportiness of the interior is just right. there are enough GT's on the market for people who love a dignified lifestyle and bose systems with dolby AC3 and widescreen TFT's to watch TV. this bentley phaeton, the CL 600, the vanquish or the upcoming DB9. why should ferrari form a queue with them?

    the only bad side effect could be that ferrari buyers go for the 612 instead of the 575M, at least i would. two more seats, at least same pace and IMO nicer looks. but that'll change when the maranello's sucessor arrives which -- my guess -- will be more extreme than the 550/575.

    I really like the new Bentley Continental GT, but I will never compare it to a 612S or a Aston Martin Vanquish ( as someone did ).
    The category of the Bentley is the CL600 or equivalent.
    612S? No thanks, I will go for a 575 Maranello!
