Thanks Mike. This is a left hand drive car's instrument cluster. On right hand drive the turbo boost guage sits on top of the dash as opposed to next to the instrument pod. In the UK our speedo's are marked in MPH on the outer ring. You can see the rev counter on the inner ring. It's a very good layout
Base price is £13,600 in the UK Mike. My car was around £16,000 due to the extras - pearlescent white paint, stripes, roof and bonnet graphics, 17" wheels, leather etc. It's a great little car in the fine Italian tradition of small cars i.e. it makes you want to drive it like you stole it
I must get a picture of it next to the Scuderia and the 430 spider for fun as it will look like their lovechild

i am certainly a believer in that bigger is not always better.
we need more of those funky small cars.
i would love an exige s with a 1.6 l engine and 225hp. that way it would only carry 40% import tax which would be justifiable for a toy.
intouch1:Fiat are rumoured to be in talks with Lotus to develop a bespoke Abarth branded 2 seater based upon an Elise chassis. If it gets the go ahead it could be a very special car as it will almost certainly get one of Fiat's advanced new direct injection engines such as the 1.8 version being launched at Geneva which is tuned to produce 200bhp in the Lancia Delta or one of the smaller high output Multiair engines. Fiat Powertrain Technologies is also working on a new dual clutch gearbox which would suit this new sports car nicely I'd think.

Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... That's what gets you.
ISUK:
They're not electric fritz so are not that heavy. The car weighs 1035Kg in base trim with 135 BHP from the 1.4 turbo engine. 0 - 62 MPH (0-100 kph) in 7.9 secs and a top speed of 128 mph (206 kph) mean it's quite a swift little toy
Sounds fun.
But imagine how it could be with the GT2 carbon seats.
ISUK:Or would FIAT use this car to go the Tesla/Lotus and Dodge/Lotus route - LiIon batteries / electric drive?

ISUK:That should certainly be interesting!

Thanks Darius. I'm feel I'm doing my bit for the well being of the Italian economy with my Ferraris, GranTurismo and this little rocket (albeit that the 500 is built in Poland).
HAHHA,right move!i said thanks for all italians
Think that i took one 500 100Hp to my wife in august 2007 as soon as they release the car,and incredible,at today the car run again no problem at all...strange,usually when you buy a Fiat, after some days something must happen..instead nothing..
well..maybe becouse they assemble it in Poland and not in Italy?

Very nice... poped into local Abarth dealer with an eye of getting the other half one... the car we sat in though seemed to have a VERY heavy clutch... we'll find out how it is on the test drive, but wondered what yours is like...
And are you temped by the esse esse kit???

mikigta:I wish they'd assemble Ferraris in Poland Just been debating how poor the paint finish coming out of Maranello is these days on another forum and this thread on a detailing forum explains why. My Scuderia was covered in swirl marks and fine scratches and many others have experienced the same or worse. http://www.detailparadise.com.au/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4264

Forza rennteam 2.0!
Rich,
My clutch isn't heavy at all though I've heard some cars are. Could be an adjustment issue. I don't think I'll bother with the essesse kit but may get a revised ECU from Scorpion tuning in Italy which takes power up to the same level at 160 bhp.
