Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

Hopefully LH can start now to pick up NRs lead and then we'll see how the championship will develop?!

I think Ferrari will now have to concentrate rather on the Red Bulls than on Mercedes.

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

It will be interesting to see where Ferrari and Red Bull end up in relation to each other: Red Bull obviously has the better chassis and aero, will the new Renault engine put them ahead of Ferrari at Montreal or will it be a return to the power advantage based status quo?

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

Canada is a track where engine power is the key for victory. Maybe if it rains we will see Red Bull in the front. On dry conditions Mercedes, Ferrari and then Red Bull.

I bet that at the end of the saison the Red Bull will be clear number two in front of Ferrari.

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

In the rain it's much more about drivers' skills. Max and Daniel proved that they can be fast in the dry, but basically any monkey on the F1 grid right now can be fast in the dry, in the wet it's a different matter.

The monkeys currently on the F1 grid are special monkeys though.

Well I am a special monkey, too, one that can't climb trees.

    Wishing for rain!

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

Looks highly unlikely at this point.

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

    Will be a nice race!
Hoping for Max to reach the podium, but not counting on it.
Exciting to see Vettel's result, finally coming close to Mercedes.
All in all, I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat!

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

Amazing start for Vettel, he got the starting perfected that's for sure.

But too bad the team made  bone head move for early tire change.

Would have been a nice dog fight between Vettel and Hamilton if not for that pitstop and Vettel's lock ups.

Rosberg, hmm, I guess he is really not that good. When Hamilton got mixed up in the back of the pack, he always find a way to get back, Rosberg on the other hand, can't seem to do it. About that last corner lock up spin, he had to try and improve his finish, a good gamble that didn't payoff but also didn't hurt him.

Incident on first corner? Pure racing, nothing special. Vettel was on the left, there is really nowhere for Hamilton to go, and they are likely on the limit of grip and not like Hamilton could just turn an extra degree to move over for Rosberg.

Vettel was not on the left, he was already out in front of both Mercedes. Hamilton simply ran Rosberg off track, running into him in the process, even though he had a completely clear track to the left, and Rosberg was fully alongside him.

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

You do realized they are mostly on the limit of grip, it's not that simply to just turn and move over. A cornering line is chosen before entering a corner.

This is very different than when Rosberg ran Hamilton off the track and take out both cars. Rosberg was going straight, there was no stress on the tire grip.

Great to watch Hamilton and Vettel having some fun during the post race interview in the paddock.

I simply cannot see Rosberg being that relax and have fun like that.

It wasn't a good day for him that's for sure. I'm hoping that Vettel keeps it up and provides some headaches for Mercedes.

They were alongside each other the whole way. Based on your logic, Hamilton chose a line that would inevitably result in a collision with his teammate before entering the corner. I agree. Except about the last part, Hamilton drove himself off track in that instance.

Think you might be the only person on Earth that has that view, even Rosberg himself said he moved over to block, so how can Hamilton drove himself off trackSmileySmileySmileySmileySmileySmiley

    Because he kept going.

So that means in Canada Rosberg drove himself off track too because he kept going? SmileySmileySmiley

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

Apparently you have trouble with equivalencies. In the first case, Hamilton was not alongside Rosberg, Rosberg closed the door on him, and, like an idiot, he drove himself into the grass instead of going around him on the outside. In the second, Rosberg was fully alongside, even slightly ahead of Hamilton the entire time.

Re: 2016 Canadian F1 Grand Prix in Montreal

Yep, Hamilton, in the first corner, stated to Vettel post race that he experienced under steer thus pushing Rosberg over to the right. Thats BS, he was just driving aggressively. Was it illegal, no, imo.

Hope Rosberg wins this year, I am not a Hammy fan.
