    Track day insurance

    Got my track day this weekend at Bedford autodrome and still have not sorted out my insurance.

    Can anyone recommend a reasonable insurer in the UK???

    Gotta try and get this sorted today / tomorrow really.

    This is the insurance we used for the Bedford trackday back in May:

    28200 GBP insured with 4700 GBP excess costs 249GBP. The cover is with [quote from bookatrack.com]: Chris Yemm at Competition Car Insurance (Egger Lawson) who offer track day insurance for all UK and European BaT events. Their number is 01159 415 255.

    We won't be there as we're booked for another family visit trip this weekend, to Munich. I anticipate doing lots of Autobahn driving in my mom's Seat Ibiza!

    Ok, Insurance sorted!

    Pounds25,000 insured. Pounds4,300 excess.. Pounds234. Fairly reasonable.

    Lets just hope I dont need to use it!!!!!!!

    Enjoy, Rich! Watch your car.. the organizers are burning to drive a 987 around the track, or were the last time I was there. Probably just to show me that one can actually exceed 50 mph if driving the girl hard.

    The crew at Bedford is great. If you want, spend the little extra (25 GBP I think) and get tuition. It's worth it, unless you're experienced already. The first few instruction rounds are actually free if you're a track newbie.

    Thanks, this is actually my first time so Ive booked the tuition.

    Hoping to do a few more in the future though, well depending on how bad my tyres / brakes are after this one!!!!!


    Goodwood looks pretty good, been down there a couple of times... only watching though. Only problem with goodwood is there are walls to hit!!!! Had to do an Airfield for my first, just in case I'm really bad and keep chucking it off the the track
