I didn't do the drive up, they had it transported to here.

But I did drove it in the rain last week, think I posted something about it.

The short version is that it behave very nicely in the rain at normal legal North American speed limits. But that's with a restrained right foot, if not the traction control is going to kick in. But the speed at which it kicks in is high than in the Speciale on Cup2s.

But I wouldn't want to drive it in pouring rain, standing water is no friends of it even with the Dunlops.

Yeah yeah yeah you sharp eyed bastard Smiley

Most people forgot to turn off the lifter after parking, yours truly included. I have done it a few times and even on the 918 too during photoshoots. Most of the time I realized that mistake halfway through the shoot and had to redo all the shooting before.

Good thing you never did during our shoots, right?  I admit that I wouldn't have noticed at first either. Easy to overlook that unless you're down low.

Good stuff Mike, should make for a great toy. Is the new garage finished yet?

Haha, yes it was done 2.5 years back.

@Gnil @Ferdie @Whoopsy: Can't wait!! She's on her way to the dealership now. Hoping for delivery this weekend, otherwise next week Smiley

You will definitely be in for a treat driving it. Not specifically trying to break in the car, but everytime my hands gravitate towards the RS's key over the 918's. I really enjoy driving the RS more.

I simply can not wait!! The break in process is going to be torture.... Dealer promised to also send me step by step pics when it arrives. Will post them up as soon as I get them.

Actually it was lifted on your first few shots Smiley

I lowered it after I noticed later on.

thanks whoopsy, just what i thought. the ferrari WET mode is really an asset in adverse weather conditions. peter

    Re: 991 GT3 RS

Nick, am I to understand that you have not experience the car at full throttle? You're still in the break-in stage? I would have thought 500 km is more than sufficient.

No I did give it the full boot, but only after the car was fully warmed and only to about 6ish k rpm.

Could it be the case because you would worry less in a car that's 1/4 the price of the 918 and you would test its limits more freely?

You know, I touch on that before. I thought that was part of the reason too.

But the deeper I think about it, even when both cars were of the same value, I will probably enjoy the RS more still. The quirk of driving a 911 is the allure. My old Turbo S with the awd tames it a lot, most of the time the front wheels will power through out of any trouble, and the power was pretty much unmatched, it will just over power most of what I can encountered. The rear drive RS actually had to make me work a little on the handling department and need to wind it up to get into the power.

I enjoyed a mid engine layout car, a Cayman on a track will be a treat to me, making it dance at will but that will be my 3rd choice. I liked a good old 911 the most. Secondly would be a front mid engine rear wheel car like my F12 or the Corvette, that layout has it's own quirks to conquer also.  These are all just my thinking, if they make any sense to you.

    Wow!
Now that I see it like that, I must admit that the silver does suit the car, something I wasn't convinced of when I saw earlier pics of silver rs's.
Congratulations Mike, enjoy in good health, and looking forward to some group shots! ;-)
